can anyone help me out? I would like to make 3 adult shirts and one boy child shirt for our upcoming Disney trip. I'll make them myself, I'll buy them, I'll do whatever if someone has suggestions. My criteria is that I wanted them to match and have our names on them. I would settle for mickey heads or something more creative but I don't have a clue where to start and am not very crafty. Suggestions on something simple I could do? Suggestions on someone who would do it for me? Is it too short of a time frame to ask for anything custom done (like something I can print and iron on)? I need them prior to our trip and we leave May 28th!!! Yes, I procrastinated :headache:(I have lots of excuses but I won't bore you with those). Thanks for any help!!! :flower3:

ETA: I understand it is against the rules to advertise so please PM me if you have an idea for me of the commercial sort. Not sure exactly what is allowed to be posted.

Just wanted to add that I'm pouring over the pages and the "how to's" as quickly as I can but given my lack of design ability and the short time period I was just looking for some simpler advice.

I also saw that many of you DISigners have fantastic design pictures posted but I don't understand how you get the picture off of the post/thread and into a program like photoshop so it can be printed? Also, if it is posted can I just use it?

I found a thread about bleech designs on t-shirts and actually tried it myself about a month ago. I was surprised at how easy and quick it was! You might like to give it a whirl. I'll attach the link to the photo of my shirt, and the link to the original thread.

What I did was get a MM head from one of the DISigners here, enlarge it with MS Word, print it out, glued it on to cardboard and then cut it out. I laid that down on the shirt instead of the 3 round circles the thread shows. Then I used a clorex bleach pen to write my son's name under it. I let the bleach sit for 10 minutes before rinshing it out in the sink and throwing it in the washing machine.

Hmm... can't find the thread now. But the above thread post #3 tells you how.

Ohh, I forgot about this one. It was the bleach pen again, but just drawing directly on.

You simply save any DISign that you want onto your hard drive and print on an iron on transfer. It really is easy! You just have to make sure that you download the full resolution image and not a thumbnail. (Zoom it in either Photobucket, 4shared or wherever it is stored)

Cool! Our family is going the same time as you!! (28th-2nd)
You could try out VistaPrint.com - I actually just ordered a custom shirt from them yesterday that I designed for the Star Wars weekend event. I only ordered 1 and it only cost me $12 with shipping included to get it in by next week! And they have LOTS of different promotions all the time (which can actually get a little confusing because depending on what area of the site you're on, it will bring up different prices for the same product). Try google searching "vista print free t shirt" and it should bring up a link for one of the promotions.

If you have a photo editing program like photoshop or MS picture it publishing (or even some of those hallmark card making computer programs would work) you can design your own image to use on the shirt - add your text, find a Disney clip art image to add to it off a google image search, and voila! There's even a free font called "Waltograph" that you could download to your computer to use. I designed my shirt in less than an hour, so if you need help creating an image to upload to Vista Print, just let me know :)

You can buy the iron on in Office Max or really any store that sells photo paper (I think walmart carries it ). I spent $15 for 5 sheets. Then just print a design and iron it on. Make sure you dont hit the design with the iron once you take the paper off (yup messed up first 2 shirts doing this). Lots of design people on here that I am sure would come up with something for you.

Or some people do the tye-dye shirts...my hubby wont go for that.

Vista Print actually prints stuff with Disney clip art......copyrighted clip art?

Yep they do. So does CafePress. I've ordered custom shirts from both companies and haven't had any problems before. Its for personal use - its not like its being mass-produced for distribution/profit.
