We are considering having dinner at Flying Fish and I have a few questions. I think I read that the menu changes often, but I've heard that the potato wrapped snapper is good. Is it always on the menu? Do you see many kids there? We'll have our DS age 3 with us. Which leads to my next question.. how long does it take to eat here? If it is a 2 or 3 hour eating experience we could not manage with DS. Finally, what do most people wear to dinner here?

Thanks,
Tammy

I have been to the Flying Fish many times and I have always seen children there. I was last there in May 2004 and had my 2 Granddaughters with me ages 1 and 2. The dress was smart casual, I had on capris and I did see some wearing shorts and nice shirts. It does not take you 2 hours to eat. If you want to stretch it out, you can, but that has not been the norm for us. It all depends if you are having appetizers and a dessert as well. It usually takes us a little over an hour. We do go early around 6:15. The snapper is one of their signature dishes and I have always seen it on the menu. It is a great restaurant.

We have always taken our children to FF. They even give them a little toy and have a great kid's menu.
The staff is outstanding! I'm sure you can let them know how long you want to dine.
I ahve always seen the snapper on the menu. They will even make you something special if you call ahead a few days.
One of the best restaurants in WDW.

When I was there in February, they didn't have the potato wrapped snapper, but had potato wrapped grouper instead. It was very good, but then grouper is my favorite fish. I would imagine they use whatever the freshest fish is of the day. I saw quite a few children there. We stretched our meal out for a few hours but you don't have to. I just wore nice pants and a sweater and the guys wore jeans and button down shirts.

This was the best meal of our trip (which included dinners at Palio, Citrico's, Victoria and Albert's, Narcoossee's, etc.). The food is amazing. I force myself to order different dishes rather than always get the snapper, but it's tough to pass it up. No matter what you order, it will be delicious.

Disney's signature restaurants tend to change their menus often because they use fresh ingredients. Check www.wdwig.com and they will have updated menus from every WDW restaurant. Hopefully this helps.. Happy eating

You'll see a variety of dress at FF--from Theme park casual, up thru "dressy" casual.

There are children there.

Dress is smart casual.

Probably a 1.5 to 2 hour dining experience if you go appetizer to dessert/coffee.
