Hey all,

Just a quick survey of opinions here. My girlfriend and I are booked and fully paid for a trip in January. We're staying at POP but recently I've been getting the urge to maybe upgrade a bit, possibly as an early x-mas surprise for my lovely girlfriend. I did some research and with my AAA rate, I could stay at POR for approx $550 more (already staying at POP for about $520). Do you think the extra amenities that POR provides would be worth it? We're both kind of going for the parks and have a get up and go attitude, it would mainly be for the comfort of getting home at night and resting in a nicer room.

Thanks!

not really.

Love Pop - is a fun place. You can even get a drink pool side, as well as the inside lounge (if you are 21 or older)

the moderates generally have a restuarant - so sit down meals which also take up more time - than food courts

a slide -- which is more for kids.

Pop as an excellent arcade.

besides Pop has those frozen cokes (okay when the machine is working) that the others resort just don't.

You will be so tired out by WDW that you won't care when you lay your head at night.

the bus service at Pop is really one of the best. In my opinion, the best.

It stops at Pop lets people on and does directly to the park.

The resort is beautiful with very romantic feel to it. It is great for walking around at night etc. The rooms are Nice enough rooms but not that out of the ordinary. The bus service from POR and PORFQ is notoriously packed and slow.

I've been to Disneyworld twice this past year. 1st time we stayed at POR. Second time we stayed at POP. I do not think it is worth the $ to upgrade. I found the rooms very similar. POR has a more relaxing feel to it, but I loved POP! The bus service (one stop only) & the fact that POP is a little smaller made POP better to me. Not as long of a walk to the buses, food court, etc. POR, we were in a close building & still felt like a hike to get anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I liked POR too. However, I feel the $550 could be spent better elsewhere. Have a great trip!

I would stay at POP. If you are get up and go as you say you will be spending most of your time at the parks or PI or somewhere and only be back to sleep. POP is fun and nice you will enjoy it, and when you are young anywhere can be romantic!

Stay at POP and use the extra money to have a really nice, romantic dinner somewhere and buy her something nice from the jewelry store on Mainstreet or DTD, she can keep and remember that long after the hotel will fade (especially a mod.)

I would say that POR is very nice, esp. for couples, but definitely not worth another $500. No way. Stay at POP and have some nice dinners. I recommend Flying Fish on the Boardwalk.
