Would it be worth a call?

Should I have our TA call a few days before we leave for our stay at the Poly to tell Disney we are coming to celebrate my graduation? I would never EXPECT anything, but I have heard that Disney does some cute, little, special things for people celebrating special occasions. Does graduating from nursing school count as a special occasion? Would it be worth a call?

Keep in mind that many many people are celebrating an occasion when they go to WDW. You can have it noted in your reservation but if you really want something special to happen arrange and pay for it yourself.

You will have a magical time because you are celebrating in WDW. :)

We celebrated my brother's graduation two years ago. I don't remember if I told them in the original reservation or in the fax when requesting the room. In any event, when we arrived there were balloons and cake in the room. He was surprised.

Just an FYI, nurses get a special discount on the rooms. Congrats on your upcoming graduation! :teeth:

I wouldn't expect anything and I certainly wouldn't ask (just seems tacky to me). I prefer the subtle approach. When we stayed in the RPC last year, I ordered anniversary flowers for DW from the Disney florist through the concierge. A couple days into the trip, we received a complementary bottle of champaigne.

That's right, it's not complimentary with the things in the rooms for parties, grads, etc., you'll be charged for them.... :wizard:

I believe that nurses only get a discount at the swan or Dolphin hotels. If the other resorts give nurses' discounts nobody told ME!

In October we were on our honeymoon and our 2nd full day we came back to the room and found a balloon with a signed picture from Alladin and Jasmine. We booked our room in Feb and noted that it was our honeymoon, so who knows.

Hey Karla!

I'm celebrating my Nursing School Graduation at Disney in May as well!!

:cheer2: Yes, nursing school graduation is something to celebrate! Congratulations to you and to Mickey Mouth. I graduated in 1991 and I work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at our local hospital.
Remember at the end of a longggggggggg day, if you brought a smile to one patient or made them laugh, it is all worth it. :goodvibes
I too will be in WDW in May!
Again, Congratulations, and welcome to nursing. We need you!
