Would it be silly to scrap this?

I just came across a receipt from our cruise last December. It's the written receipt that the waitress wrote out to charge to our room for our Bahama Mamas at the embarkation luncheon. Normally I just toss this stuff out, but I thought it might be fun to mat it and journal something about how this was the first of many many room charges lol. I also already have a page made up about our embarkation buffet so I thought this might make a good facing page for it. What do you think?

I use things like that all the time. I usually mount them on cardstock.

yep...
especially if you have pictures of you guys drinking! I usually make a pocket page too in my books to put all my bills and paper things I colllected. It is funny to look back and see what things cost!

And keep in mind someday your kids (or grandchildren) may get a kick out of seeing what you ordered and how much it cost! I keep lots of receipts from special events, like WDW trips, including plane ticket receipts and rental car receipts. I put them in pocket pages. Someday my kids may be interested to see them!............P

<----Has scrapped an unused (thankfully) barf bag! :teeth:

Just like -em, I scrap EVERYTHING!

I would definately scrap the reciept.

In fact, I just scrapped a gas receipt for $.97 cents a gallon! who woulda thought I'd be looking back and saying 'can you believe gas was only 97 cents?' (and it wasn't even that long ago- 2002!)

I also have my Alaska Ferry receipt for whenever I get around to scrapping those pictures. Otherwise, no one ever believes that I spent $600 to put my car on the ferry.

I also have scrapped an empty sugar packet from the British Columbia ferries because it has a cute picture of the ferry on it.

I'm sure somebody might think the things I scrap are silly but I don't care, because they aren't silly to me!

Just like some people might think this dancing banana is silly   but I like him!

:flower:

A true obsessive-compulsive scrapbooker finds nothing silly! If you don't have to feed it and it's not something disgusting that will decay...scrap it!!! I've even got the rest of my family saving everything whenever we go anywhere, "Mom will want this for her scrapbook :rolleyes1 ". On our recent Disney cruise, I was crawling around the floor of the theatre picking up the streamers and confetti. I kept our wrist bands from our excursion. And I always put receipts in my scrapbooks for posterity.
Feel better?

You know I never thought of scrapping stuff like receipts to show the current prices of things. Hmmm?? Maybe this is a new thing I might have to do.

Certainly not silly! I have been known to scrapbook receipts, pictures that are out of focus or downright indiscernable, candy wrappers, many things! I always am sure to spray the buffer spray on it first. My thought is anything that has a story behind it that will help me remember the occasion for years to come, why not? Even looking over scrapbooks I put together before scrapbooking was "cool" (in middle and high school, 15 years ago!!), there are tags and receipts and odds-n-ends that tell stories I had long forgotten had happened.

Of course, most scrapbookers tend to be slightly compulsive anyway, right? Hee Hee

Not silly! I too scrapbook receipts and id braclets, and lots of other stuff. I too was getting the confetti on the floor from the Disney cruise and the kids graduation there. The funny thing was that when we went to get my 5 year old dd from the club she had her grad. cap full of the confetti she also picked up for me to scrapbook. My son and daughter also keep ribbons or other things they think I may use in a scrapbook. You never know!

I have receipts in my scrapbooks. I like it because it is part of my history. I also use recipts of our WDW trips at a memory jogger of what we did when.
