Would I regret this?

I am thinking about doing AK for only a half day. (this is what we have done in the past) Usually we go in the morning, but this year I am thinking of doing it in the afternoon. Would I still be able to do the Safari and Everest?

Hi Sonya!! :wave2:

You can always get fastpasses for the Safari and Everest and just do some other stuff in between. I am sure you could do that in an afternoon.

I know lots of people think AK is a half day park but we always find more than enough to do for a whole day. Does Sam like animals? Nathan is an animal lover and we can spent a lot of time just exploring and Nathan really liked the Dinosaur area. He kept asking to go back the rest of the trip.

Our family only spent a half-day at AK. This was before Everest, but we did Safari, Kali, the trails, Dinosaur, train ride, and our favorite 3D, ITTBAB.
We would rather spend our time in the other parks, and since that was our first trip to AK, we will only go back for Everest and the Safari.
Just our opinion.

Depending on when you go, the FP for Expedition Everest could be gone. I have read here that they were gone by noon on some days. If you want to spend 1/2 day, and ride EE, you should go in the morning, just my opinion.

Was at AK last Tuesday, March 28. It was packed! We were there at 8:30am. The FastPass line for EE was as long as the line for the ride. This being said, the kids were able to ride EE (twice) and the Kali River Rapids and we were out of the park by noon. Yes, the safari is open until 15 minutes before closing so that should not be an issue for you. Actually our daughter and family were one of the last of the people to take the safari on an earlier day. The animals knew it was feeding time and were up and around, making their way to their dinner. She got some nice shots of the animals that were normally laying down during the day. Have fun! :sunny:

I'm also trying to decide whether to visit AK in the morning of afternoon. I haven't spent more than 1/2 a day there since the first time I visited.

I heard that the EE fastpasses are usually gone by the afternoon. There are probably more animals out in the morning too. I guess it depends if you're going during a busy time of the year or not.

OK, it sounds like if I want a FP for EE I should do the morning?

We are really going to make this a half day park, one reason is that it gets pretty warm there. DS is too young for the Bug movie so I figured we would do the safari, then maybe take the train, then go to Dinoland and I could leave the group and do EE.

Ditto

If one of your primary reasons for avoiding Animal Kingdom is the heat, I would absolutely go as early as possible. Also, as some have mentioned - those Fast Passes can go really quickly.

I would definitely stick with Animal Kingdom as early as possible.

Have a fantastic trip!
