I have to boys...7 and soon to be 9. They have a 'fall break' in October which is also the week of my birthday. I am thinking about a Disney Cruise.

Any tips...any advice...any 'pearls' of Disney Cruise wisdom? :D

We just love Disney...would we love the cruise? Are my boys at
'good ages' for this...or should we wait?

Thanks!

I would reccomend you going. It's not hurricane season and you might be able to catch a good deal. Yes, go and enjoy. You'll love it!

I think you'd probably enjoy it more than you could ever imagine!

Fall savings are in effect, so book early!

You will all enjoy it. Take a seven day. The four or three are just not long enough.

I just arrived home yesterday after a 4 day wonder/9 day WDW vacation. We have never been so SAD to go to WDW before in our lives!!! We wanted to stay on the ship!! Within 24 hours we all realized that 4 days was NOT going to be nearly long enough!

And this is from a person who NEVER in my life envisioned myself on a cruise because it's too fancy, too much drinking and too much gambling. WOW, was *I* ever surprised about how much I loved the Disney Cruise.

Take the cruise!

You'll love it. Your kids will love it. You will be hooked like the rest of us. And yes your kids are at a great age to really enjoy the cruise and the kids clubs.

Don't wait!! Definitely book. They'll love it--so many activities. And you'll have a blast, too. And the fall rates are some of the best. :Pinkbounc

For the week of my boys' fall break... I can only book either the 4 days WDW/3 night cruise. Should I wait until I can do 7 days?

I'm loving it, and I haven't even got on my first cruise ship. I think the anticipation of the cruise is half the fun. We were going to take a 4 day to see if we liked it, but when it came time to make the ressie, we decided to go for the 7 day, we sail in 46 days and can't wait!!!

Rae, Michael looks good up there on
Red!!!

Actually you will be catching the tail end of the hurricane season. The seas can stay rough thru November, so do be prepared.

As for doing a Disney Cruise....YES. Your boys sound like they are the perfect age to appreciate the fun and excitement of Disney. I have to agree with the other posters here, 3 or 4 nts is just not enough time, you have to do the 7nt.

Diane......Fidelio Rocks!!!!

Even if you can only do the 3-day, I say, "Go For It!" DH and I have been wanting to cruise for 2 years, but it wasn't until two weeks ago that opportunity, time off, and finances all converged favorably, allowing us to book the July 17, 3-day. We're hoping to do the 7-day Western early next year, so we feel this is a great warm-up (we've never cruised before.)

Unless going on the 3-day will prevent you from doing a 7-day in the future (due to finances, vacation time, etc.) I don't see a reason to put it off. It will seem too short, I'm sure, but isn't a too short cruise better than no cruise? Carpe diem! :smooth:

I would say, YES!!!

Our first Dis cruise was Feb of 2000. We took DD's 9 and 7 then out of school. The teachers thought it was great that "families" still took vacations togeather. We did the land and sea. 4 Nights on the ship was way too short. Although that was my and DD's first time at WDW the girls liked "the ship" much better. We booked a 7 night Eastern (cancelled Nov 2002) and had to switch to another 4 night Wonder. Althought they were disappointed in not being on "the ship" for 7 nights as Verandahman says "4 nights are better tha no nights".
