Would banked points be wasted with a last-minute cancellation?

If you have a reservation with banked points that are supposed to expire this summer, will those points be wasted if you don't go again within a few months? Will member service allow banking them "twice"? Also, can those banked points be swapped with a completed trip that is taken from earlier this year? Because of reservation availability reason, I ended up using current year points first before the banked points. Even if those points do not go to a holding account, they are back to "banked account" and will expire in a few months.

Banked points can not be banked again and will expire at the end of your current UY.

They cannot swap out points from trips that have already finished. So, if you have to cancel a trip now that has banked points, those will be lost if you don’t rebook using them before they expire.

They are currently waiving holding restriction for reservations currently being Canceled and are even putting borrowed points back.

But is been a hard no to extending the life of banked points
