Would anyone be interested in a Pal Mickey swap?

Ok, so we left him by himself in the room..we had no kids, and we had already had our own. I mean, really, he was in the window so he could watch paserbys..and the maid must have played with him, as he had a mickey coater in his hand when we returned. It was only for a couple of days!

we would be interested in a pal mickey swap. I thought about renting one last summer but the $8 a day didn't seem worht it. We will be in Disney Aug 2-Aug7. How would this work ? Do you pick him up at a resort? Also the fridge rental sounds great. We are thinking about renting a fridge while we are there.

Okay...I've put my name on the list for September...but have couple questions. What is the cost for the swap?? And I see the August swap goes untill around mid August then starts over. So I would guess the September swap would be an August-September...and a September-October swap. Has the August-September swap been set up, or started yet.

I have a few more questions but can wait untill the planning starts. One thing though if the August-September swap ends around September 11th...we could do the drop off...since we are staying at GKTW

a simple way to organize this would be by resort one or two pal mickeys per resort. Especially for DVC members could have a calender for each resort have a box with a clear pocket on top to put a label with the next families name and check in date and have the box waiting for when you check in. You could network DVC members and work out a payment between them. Maybe 1 -2 Pal Mickeys stay at those resorts only then rentals could be sent to 2 people in charge per resort and when the person is paid for the original Pal Mickey a new one could be bought and so on.

After a fun and exciting 5+ week holiday at WDW Pal Mickey is now on his way to Give Kids the World! So Mickey will continue to visit the parks, while all of the rest of us just have fond memories of our time with him.

So how do I get his job? I guess I would have to start by moving to Florida...

I loved my time with Mickey. Thanks Haley for organizing. Everything went so smoothly. I have a souvie pic of Mickey and me waving at the camera during the Dinosaur ride. I'll probably get one of my own for the December trip. It was hard to say goodbye

Those of you who want to swap in September and October should first do a search to see if anyone else has started a swap for your month in a separate thread to see if they have dates available that fit with your schedule.

If no other swap is available you might want to start one. Post a separate thread asking if anyone else is interested in a September (or October or whatever month along with your dates of your vacation ask people to contact you via a personal message and see if you get any interest. There are a number of separate posts under June, July pal mickey swaps were you can get ideas as to how the money was collected, how PM was purchased and by whom, plus how hand offs were made, and on how to get PM to GKTW.

The first swap was a little different in that PM was donated and not purchased so I can't help with the financial details, but there have been a number of swaps since then and we all helped each other. so you might even try contacting one of the original coordinators by either PM or emailing through the board to see if they are willing to help you. I'll bet you'll get lots of advise.

It's not as intimidating as it appears. You should give it a try
