Okay, sounds like the MissSwish Pal Mickey is traveling! This swap is such a great idea!

Katy, right now, Doris and I are working out meeting and I pm's Kat to let her know I cna just leave PalMickey at AKL if we can't find a sitter.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. THIS thread was never "shut down." I had closed a thread or two that were not "stuck" and that were beginning to get nasty while we discussed the Pal Mickey Swaps.

Please Read This Thread before anyone goes any further with any swaps.

I would also appreciate it if every Swap Organizer would post the details (available dates, etc) of their Swap to ONE post. You can edit your post as needed (PM me or one of the other mods if you need help with this.) Then all other communication should be handled through PM so that the thread does not get bogged down with too many details or questions about specific Swaps.
Once all of the Swaps have been represented on this thread, I will attempt to "clean up" this thread by moving any post that is not pertinant to a particular Swap to another thread that will NOT be "stuck."

Rules-
While Pal Mickey is in your care he must never be left in a stroller or otherwise unattended. He is your charge and responsibility.
Pal Mickey will be donated to GKTW at the end of our swap.
I am the emergancy contact person if a hand off fails or there are any other issues everyone has my cell #.
If Pal Mickey is lost... I hate to even think about it. He will have a tag with my phone number on him. Please report him lost at Lost and found, and contact me right away.
If anyone has any concerns please PM me. Mickey is about to start his vacation! I wish I was staying as long as he is.

I am willing to host a new Pal Mickey Swap if there are enough interested. Dates for this swap will begin JUNE 13 and end in JULY with Mickey being donated to Give Kids the World. I do not have a PM donated at this time, so we will all share the cost of a new PM - which will be around $2 per day, according to the number of participants. We will share the cost of $60 (which includes tax) of Mickey evenly. Pal Mickey will have a tag attached with my name and phone number to contact should he be lost.

As hostess, I will organize the swap by collecting names, phone numbers, dates and location of Pal Mickey throughout the swap, and money for the Pal Mickey. I am looking into finding an off-site DISer to babysit Mickey if we should have open spots.

Well I'm back. The first PalMickey swap was sucessfully completed on May 3, 2004.

One observation, have a back-up plan for your meeting. I was unable to keep my first appointment due to an injury I received. But I knew the full name of my swap pal and was able to call her at the hotel and make arrangements to drop him off at the POP.

(The payphones in the Parks have phone books and in the back of those books are the telephone numbers for all the of WDW resorts.)

I also knew that she would be dining the next morning at the Crystal Palace, so I was even able to call her there and confirm that she picked him up. So communication is key.

Almost forgot! The original PalMick had to be retired due to injury (we got injured together) during my trip, so Ms. Fredna started with a brand spankin' new PM.

If anything should happen to PM while in the parks and he is not working correctly, please take him for a check up at any store that sells him, the clerks will examine him, re-program him if necessary and if none of that works they will determine if they can replace him. In my case they determine that he needed replacement even without my asking. Very nice experience at the Emporium at MK.

The dates prior to 6/13 are available, but the first DISer on the list is responsible for purchasing the Pal Mickey. I'll collect the money orders and send the first DISer the money for the new PM along with his bag, tag, notebook and swap list.

In order to make this cost effective, we will need at least one more 4 day time frame. That will lower our per/day cost below the PM $8/day rental fee. The more DISers we have, the lower our per day cost.

The last person in the swap will be responsible for notifying GKTW that PM is ready for pickup. I will have pre-notified them that we will have a Mickey for them on that date so they can be expecting your call. All the info will be with PM - and I will have given everyone in the swap the full list of swap information through e-mail. THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!!!

UPDATE! We've had a change in the swap dates and have a little longer for additions. We've got plenty of spaces left, so send me a private message with the dates you would like to have Pal Mickey and we will see what we can do! I will need to know by MAY 23 all who will be in the swap and have money orders mailed no later than May 25.

June 13 thru June 16 - MomlovesDad, drop off June 16pm or June 17 am.

June 17 thru June 20 - OPEN, drop off June 20 pm, or June 21 am.

I got to meet Katie today (always nice to put a face with a name!), and Pal Mickey is here with us at POR awaiting meeting his next friends. I was a little nervous reading his adventures..seems he's been to Epcot on the Segway tour and took a spill..Imade my ressie's for June, and from what he's saying in his journal, I'm not so sure I want to do it now LOL.
He was a good watch mouse in the car, while we visited at Epcot, and now he's in the window watching all the kids go by our room, waiting for his next adventure. He's in great shape and spirits!

When I was with the mouse- literally, I saw a person holding a pal Mickey with gloves on!!! Pooh gloves! They made a cover for his hands, and let me tell you from experience, that is where the germ fest is!

Today we hadned off Mickey to Christine..went very smooth and it was very nice to meet her and her family. Mickey was rather bored with us, I'm sure he's happier to be going into the parks!

I have been following this thread and decided that as i will be in Disney for 14nts from 15th august 04 ..... I may aswell set up a swap. I am happy to buy Pal Mickey and then carry on ...so if anyone is interested in taking over from me on 25 or 26th August please do let me know.
