Would a PIN be worth it for me?

I jsut called WDW today to see if I had a PIN attachted to my name...nada! I even followed what some other have posted about how to get a PIN.

So I was thinking, I don't even know if a PIN would be cheaper for us or not?

Maybe some one can help with the math cause it looks like Greek Algebra to me!

Currently we are book at ASMo preferred 9/25, checking out 10/4. We have 9 day MYW parkhopper/water park tickets with the dining plan. There are 4 of us: Me, DH, DS age 5 and DS age 6. total cost with insurance 3,603.08.

I would LOVE To stay at WL or AKL, with all the same ticket options, but would only be able to even consider it if we got the 40%PIN. So does anyone know what thet would bring our total to if I got it?

I guess my thought is, is it even worth it for our family for me to keep trying to get a 40% off PIN............although it may bite me in the butt (if it is worth it...as in same price as what we are paying now) if I don't end up getting it!

Thanks for anyone up for the math!

just go to the walt disney world resort page and price out the same days with RESORT ONLY and then take 40% off of that. THen add the park passes insurance and dining...at the a la carte rate.

For example, the rack rate of a standard room at AKL during that time period is $240....so $240x9=$2160....then 40% of $2160 is 864....and $2160-864=$1296. So, I bet the difference is less than $500 between AKL and ASMo.

I got a pin... the 20/30/40.... nothing that is a "basic" room is available. Was thinking about upgrading to CR, but all they had left wouldn't make it worth it. So that was out....

Then I called to see if there was a PIN for my husband, sure enought 35% off any room... so I figured I'll just stay where I am (ASMuFS.. there is 5 of us) and get my % off... well, no discounts for the suites! There is 5 of us, I could move to two rooms instead of the suite, but then I lose my queen size bed and my fridge and micro... I just don't think it's worth it.

So much for a PIN!! :sad2:

We got a pin and it did drop our price, but not as much as I had hoped...DON'T FORGET TO ADD IN THE 12% SALES TAX. We thought we were going to get a discount of about $350, when it actually worked out to be $125 off once the sales tax was factored in.

Something is faulty here..

The sales tax is on the discounted total.. So you either weren't comparing apples to apples.. OR .. you did the math wrong.

25% off the taxable total = means 25% off the tax too.. Don't forget the 25% off is ONLY on the room portion, not the tickets or the dining.

Okay, that's odd. I even called back after we did the math in our heads, and the cm is the one who mentioned the tax. Made sense at the time, but you're right...that doesn't really make sense. We originally had the 30% off promo that was extended until August 14th. Then we got a pin for 40% off. I took the priced out cost of AKL standard room only for our stay. I then did the 30% off and then the 40% and subtracted the difference hoping that would be the changee in our cost. I was way off. My fiance is an accounting major, so you would think we could figure this out:confused3!!! Please help!

Thanks for the help....according to my calculation, for a Bunk Bed room (assuming that the cheapest room is not available), it would be about $900 more. While a GREAT deal, I was hoping for less or about the same.

So this little math problem has now decided we will stay where we are at!!!!! I no longer need to stress about getting a PIN cause I doubt we would use it!

Now....if Free dining comes out, I would save a little more!

My 40% PIN saved us almost $400. I think it depends on the resort type though.

kifuller - Sorry your PIN was no good to you. Keep calling back if it doesn't expire. You never know, more rooms could open up.
