Worthwhile trying to call back to snag AP rates?

We need just one night before we start our bounceback. Airfare worked out better to fly in one day earlier. DS has his little heart set on one night at his beloved AKL which totally unavailable, of course. I wanted to indulge him - within reason, don't wanna pay rack, lol - because our youngest will be turning 3 before our next trip and we'll be stuck with AKV or two rooms from now on if we want to stay there!

So, is it worthwhile to keep trying? Or, do canceled AP rate rooms just go into the main inventory, lost to the discount? I've heard both things, wondered if someone knew for sure. Thanks.

I think it would be worth trying.

Last year, I called about 5 days after AP rates were released for July and got BC standard view for 6 nights ... this was after reading numerous posts that BC had no availability for AP rates.

Keep trying. I had to keep calling to get BWI at an AP rate for this past April. I think my room opened up 3 weeks before we went..Definately worth calling again & again is need be.
