Worth paying the price for 1 day (July 4th)?

I think I know the answer (not worth it). But wanted to get opinions. We'll be down doing a different style of trip this time over July 4th. We are splitting our trip between Orlando, Clearwater, Tampa. We only have 1 full day available to do anything in Orlando. I know Kong will be open and really want to ride it, but having a hard time spending the money for it when we will probably come back and do a dedicated Disney/US trip.

Too many negatives: July 4th will be crazy busy, added cost to just buy 1 day tickets etc.

How far in the future are you planning on doing a longer Orlando trip? That would probably sway my decision if I were you.

since i'm not fond of crowds that make line waits forever, i stay away from the parks on certain dates, such as 4th of july.

I would come back at another time so you can enjoy your park visit. It will be hot and crowded. If your not staying onsite with advantage of EP that would even make it worse.

If I were you I wouldn't Universal or Disney. But I might consider spending the day doing other things like Citywalk, Downtown Disney,... or things you might not have time for during a regular trip. Say a booked guided tour? Ever wanted to do the behind the scenes things? That can be very expensive as with most of them you have to have a valid park admission... but just my thoughts. I do hear the fireworks on 4th of July at the motherland are pretty fantastic..... They have a desert party cruise not sure if you have to have park admission for that one as it's on the ferry boat not in the park.

Otherwise.. I wouldn't "Waste" a ticket on chaos. Unless you like really hot chaos.
