Hello!

We fly down to the Happiest Place on Earth this Friday, 6/7. Can. not. wait.

Just got an email from WDW today telling us that we should check our email daily while we are there, for "specials" that they will be emailing us that can only be redeemed while we are there. But, we really weren't planning to bring a laptop....

Can anyone tell me if they recently went and got these emails, and if they were worthwhile?

Thanks!

Can you check the e-mails from your phone?

If you can't login to the e-mail account directly, I'm sure your phone has an e-mail address tied to it.

What I would do is then setup a "Rule" in your e-mail to forward all mail (or just mail containing the word "Disney") to your phone's e-mail address.

Have you considered doing a quick email check on your phone?
Just saw above, we must have posted at about the same time.

I wouldn't. However the only "specials" I got were for photopass stuff. I don't do the photpass anymore so it wasn't too exciting. I don't know if they are sending out different things now, but that was all I have heard of.

Thanks, all!

I have a very low-end phone and can't access email with it (believe it or not, I actually try not to be *too* connected or accessible:thumbsup2)

Anyway, I already sprang for PhotoPass+, so if that's kind of what they offer while you're there it sounds as though we don't need it.

Again, thanks for the suggestions and insight!

I wouldn't, I agree with the others....your phone or possibly a tablet would be my suggestion.

I wouldn't , we were just in WDW... I got no emails in our 7 night stay... Via my iPhone email...

Wouldn't want to tote it to disney, iPhone stays in the room also... While there, I rather be unconnected !

I have received the email telling me I'll get an email about "specials" while I'm there, and haven't received anything else.

I do take my laptop to download my photos every day, so if there's a problem with the card, or the camera breaks or is lost, I don't lose all my photos as well.

Where are you staying? I know the business class rooms at CSR have complimentary computers in the lounge you can use for whatever. Some other resorts may offer the same, but this is the only one I know for sure. If your resort hosts meetings/conventions, they may very well have a business center.

After last years trip and using the disney app on my iphone, we cannot imagine going to the parks without it. Saved us a lot of time being able to see the up to the minute wait times, fast pass schedules etc. One example is when space mountain was down most of the morning and we had just gotten off the tea cups and was planning on heading over to Fantasy area, I checked my phone and saw that SM was up and running and only had a 15 minute wait:cool1:. By the time we got off the ride, the wait was up over an hour.

I agree.. I wouldn't lug it down there for the sole purpose of checking Disney emails.

But I agree.. as disconnected as I want to be (from work!) I can't imagine going to the park w/ out my Iphone.. I've been able to check wait times, get ahold of others in my party, even book last minute ADRs! Plus lately, it's really the only 'camera' I bring.
