Worth It to stay onsite for HHN???

We will be there for the first weekend and got express for sat. (figured after 4hr drive and full day of work we'll take it easy fri.) Rates for onsite are kind of expensive.I love the HRH but the best part is the key. Any extra benefits to staying onsite during HHN?

there is no FOTL for the hard ticket event of HHN.

you can buy the express pass plus for the express lane.
it is good for one house and ride and attraction only once.

only valid for bill and teds show for the first show of the night.

the hotel key is valid for the day portion of the parks until they close for HHN to start up.


i love staying at HRH on HHN nights.

i stay until the park closes. get in line for a house and even if it is 2:00 then, they will let you go into the house then.

staying on site makes it worth it for me during HHN.
short walk back to the hotel and then crash in bed.......


once the media clears out on opening night, it should be good for crowds.
the people that have the FFP will be allowed to use them for opening night.

could be more there opening night.

i only went to opening night/weekend 3 times.
other than that, i hit a later weekend.

We attended opening weekend the last two years and stayed onsite. The parks on Friday and Sunday were not crowded at all (especailly Sunday). Early Saturday was not bad either. The crowds filled in as the day progressed, more so on Friday and Saturday because of HHN. I thought to myself that we really didn't have to stay onsite for FOTL at this time of year, however, it was still sooooo convenient to be on site. Not having to get into a car and drive allowed us to consume certain spirits at the event! We travel a lot and we had to cut out HHN this year which is driving me crazy. I was thinking of ways to cut costs and one was to stay off site. While I would consider staying offsite for Universal Parks during this time period, I would not consider attending HHN without the express pass so you were very smart in purchasing them. Thanks for the replies. I am attempting to convince DH that we should stay onsite, (he's a little .....um well ....CHEAP). I think I am gonna give HRH a ring and see what kind of rate I can get with My AAA. We used to have AP but with the kids getting older and more involved in different activities it just doesn't pay for us to have them

I keep saying that it will be nice to be so close for Transportation but he says he's fine with taking a cab ride from a nearby hotel that costs less. Guess we'll see.......

Good to know. Hope its the same for our dates. I will find out this evening when i get home. I am driving DH crazy. I know its still early but i am a planner. I love U and only been to HHN once with my brother and his wife. I am just so excited i'm bouncing off the walls. I think the best part is .....NO KIDS this trip!

book now, you can always modify the rate when they drop.

and, if you decide you can't swing on site hotels and find a place off site that is more suitable for your needs and pocket book, you can cancel the on site ressie.

as long as you cancel 5 days prior, you will not be charged.

I loved staying on site for HHN. We went to the park early then headed back in the afternoon, for a rest before HHN. It was great being able to walk back to the HRH after HHN, no waiting around for transport when you're tired and just want to get to bed.

Might want to look into staying at the Royal Pacific to save a couple of bucks also. I've stayed in both HRH and RPR and we ended up liking RPR a little bit better. HRH wasn't justified for the extra cost.
