Hi Everybody!
I just got off the phone from my appointment with Rosie the Florist today and she was super helpful and so awesome. But now she has just given me more and more and MORE options when I was INTENDING on this being an INTIMATE AND INEXPENSIVE wedding lol. We fell in love with Sea Breeze Point because of the backdrop of the Boardwalk, closeness to our favorite park Epcot, and all of the ferry boats that surround. Now Rosie is giving me all these options of SWAGS, and COLUMNS, and FLORAL designs to decorate for more money.

Sounds deliciously pretty, but gets very costly. Has anyone had a wedding without and it turned out just as gorgeous? Any pics? I know I will just have the cake with the table and chairs, but I thought that is all I wanted. Now I am just overwhelmed! AHHHHH! :stitch2:

PLEASE HELP with any suggestions!
Thanks so very much! :mickeyjum

I am going to get married at Sea Breeze Point and we are just going to have rose petals scattered. I will not waste my money on flower arrangements. I think that the location is pretty enough.

I may have something else but nothing too fancy.

Hi I'm getting married at SBP on 11/16/2007 and I just talked to Rosie yesterday regarding decorations for SBP. I too wanted something nice but inexpensive and its very tempting w/all those options. I think I'm just going to do the rose petals as well...I think the setting is pretty enough anyway. Off hand does anyone know how much the petals cost??

The photos she e-mailed looks great, but in the end we're just scattering rose petals on the aisle and on the table holding the unity candle and roses for the rose presentation. We're bringing our own rose petals from our local florist. At the time, Rosie quoted me $100 for the rose petals although some brides have said they were quoted $50. I believe it's based on $2 per stem. The six bags I'm buying costs under $20 from my local florist.

I'm getting married at Sea Breeze Point as well and am not planning on doing anything else to the location. I'm just going to put fans on all the chairs for my guests and probably a little gift bag and that's it.

I think it's so beautiful there that nothing else is really needed.

btw, did you guys make an appointment to talk to that woman from disney floral or do you just call her up?

I'd like to talk to them about my bouquet... can I get the number or email or something for them? thanks! :thumbsup2

I was married at SBP and I also wanted just intimate and inexpensive, so we didn't do anything extra with floral or decorations.

I had never been to WDW prior to our wedding, and I had NO idea what SBP looked like until the day before. Personally, I thought it was just beautiful without any extra adornment. We loved the simple, elegant feel and just having all the ambiance surrounding us. So, if you decide not to do anything, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We were married at SBP 3 years ago and didn't do any additional decorating. It was beautiful as is. The backdrop of the water was enough for me. If anything, I would have just done rose petals on the ground.

Let me know if you'd like to see some pictures.

I agree. You don't have to do much to SBP for it to look great. the view is dreamy on almost every angle.

I actually wanted my ceremony there for my September wedding. However, I made the mistake of taking my parents to see it this past September (the love bugs were out of control! ) My parents were like: "absolutely not!" so i had to go with the WP.

I'm glad that you won't have that issue.;)

Here are photos taken of SBP when it wasnt decorated...

Hope this helps some-- we went the non-decorating route and it was still very very beautiful!

We had a custom wedding and DID decorate. However we made it more cost effective by decorating SBP and having all of the arrangements moved to the reception location. We used Emily @ Charming Events.

We did tulle draping around the gazebo, a rose petal aisle and two columns with arrangements as well as rose petal cones and other clusters of flowers. We did not use chair covers though.

I think you can't go wrong either way. It is nice though that with this location bc it is so beautiful on it's own that decorations aren't necessary. I think it'll help me save some money in the long run. Probably just some rose petals for me. Though KT27's decorations look beautiful! Oh no I am being tempted...

Thanks so much you guys! I think if anything now, I will just go with the rose petal idea that all of you gave me. Rosie quoted me at $50 for petals which is about 25 roses she said. Luna99, you can contact your wedding coordinator to set up an appt. with Rosie. That is what I did and Rosie called me on my cell phone and we talked for AN HOUR!! She is VERY HELPFUL!!

Thank you KT27 for your GORGEOUS pics and thank you Maggimus for your pics!! Decorations are indeed tempting but I am ATTempting to keep a budget lol lol lol :) hee hee hee

Thanks so much again! :thumbsup2

Thank you for posting pictures! I have been waiting to see picture of wedding sites, other than the Wedding Pavilion. I never really knew what SBP looked like, and now I do :goodvibes !!

Also, is it at all possible to do some of the decorating yourself? I mean, I am a crafty person and I would LOVE to set up some of it myself. Just curious...

It sure is! You just need to designate someone (a guest, family member, wedding party member...) to do the setup and take down. If Disney does this for you they'll charge you a fee. Sorry I don't know how much. We did this for our DL wedding and ot saved us a ton of money and gave family members who really wanted a role, a role.

I think you already made your decision, but I *love* the rose petals! I think it makes it look very bridal and is a lot of impact for not much money. Love the petals! If you are having a unity candle or sand ceremony to be on the table there, that will be the focal point anyway - really everyone looks at the aisle, the altar/table and the bride/groom 90% of the time, so the stuff off to the sides is only in the peripheral vision.

That's a good idea bc I love doing creative stuff as well so I would love to bring in my own decorations if I decide to do anything in addition to the rose petals. I will have to look into that.

I just got married at SBP and I chose not to decorate with the exception of some topiaries my mom made.

I am really happy we went this route! I just could not see paying for flowers that I was going to see for just over an hour. All we had to do is send someone down to set them up and take them down. I took a few of my own things for the cake table: my cinderella champagne glasses & my waterford glass slipper that DH gave me.

I will post some pics on my next TR installment but here are the topiaries:

wow, when in september was this? I'm getting married there on september 1st! I completely forgot about the "love bugs" in florida and how many there can be at times!

oh well..... if there are some I'll just consider it good luck and that will just mean more LOVE for everyone! :goodvibes

The love bugs can be really bad. This past September we were sitting outside the Plaza restaurant in MK waiting for a table and DH was going crazy trying to shoo them away!

pixiedust: pixiedust: For you! I hope any storms that come during the summer will drive those babies away!

Seriously, I go to Disney religiously every September, and this past September was the worst I have ever seen. In fact, I barely noticed them before. I think it was because there weren't as many coastal storms this past year.
I arrived September 15th and left on the 23rd. they aren't mean bloodsucking bugs, so its nothing too bad, but there are so many of them, and they cling on anything they can find to mate:eek:

I hope this year won't be bad - but if it is, perhaps you can ask your EM about it. MAybe they can fumigate SBP? (is that even possible?) I am getting hitched only 20 days after you so I'm really hoping it won't be bad!!!
