1) what time do mk fireworks end on a 9pm close night? And where's the best place to watch in order to catch the mono rail quickly back to ttc?
2) would we have any chance of getting to Epcot in time to do a few headliners during a 9pm-11pm emh after watching the full HEA?
3) faster to drive from ttc or take the Epcot monorail? Depends on how far out we parked I assume?
4) am I crazy to even think about this? My assumption is Epcot emh won't be very busy with the state of the park now (though tt will be open by time we're there)

HEA show time is not usually tied to park closing time. So the better question is “when is HEA scheduled on my date?” HEA is about 18 minutes long.

If HEA is at 9 on your night, I think you’d be lucky to get to Epcot by 10 at the very earliest if all stars aligned (note it is very hard to peg exactly because of the many variables). It could be later.

It doesn’t seem like a great use of time in my opinion. I’d rather watch the Epcot fireworks on that night and then utilize the full EMH time there.

I think you would be lucky to get to Epcot by 10, but having to push through the crowd, wait for a monorail with everyone else (because a ton of people will leave even if it's not park close), ride to TTC, wait for a monorail there (sometimes not, but you have to be prepared to wait), ride to Epcot, then get in the park. I'd say probably closer to 10:30 at that point, and then you have a whopping half hour of EMH, hour if you're lucky. With all the construction you can't just zigzag all over the park to ride rides so it takes longer to experience EMH there IMO. I agree that a better use of time is watching the show at Epcot if you really want to experience EMH there.

Agree with above posters.
Even if you watch from teh far end of Main Street, there will be a big crowd headed out.
Then, waiting for a monorail/boat to TTC and waiting for the monorail.
You could walk to Contemporary (about 10 minutes) and wait for the bus to EPCOT.
Either way, I don't think you'll get there much befor 10 at the best.

Just a small correction to note there isn't a bus from CR to Epcot - CR guests have to take the monorail and transfer at the TTC to get to Epcot.

But one could quickly go over to CR and get a taxi/rideshare (along with the hundreds/thousands(?) of others with the same idea exiting the park after HEA)

Still a tough challenge regardless to get any use out of the Epcot EMH time.

Thanks. I realized that ep has emh on my mk day (Tuesday) then mk has the same emh (9-11) on Wednesday which is my ep / hop day so you are all correct. I will hop before fireworks / after dinner and get there 7-8ish.

The other question is would it be faster to drive from ttc to/from ep it take the mono rail, bus from contemporary, etc. Will be driving both days and parking somewhere

I appreciate the OP asking this question and everyone's answers! Our very last night of our trip, we are planning on watching HEA at MK, and I noticed that EPCOT had EMH from 9-11pm. We're staying at the Beach Club, so I was thinking that it might be a nice way to close out our trip to monorail to EPCOT and get a last ride or two there before walking through the park back to our resort.

It sounds though like even if we watched the fireworks from the back of MK and left at 9:15pm, if would still probably take an hour to get to EP? We've taken the monorail to resorts, but never transferred at the TTC to EP. Not ideal! But something we may still consider. Leaving the park at that time ALWAYS takes forever :(

But since you're going that way anyway you could still take the monorail and probably hit soarin and something else as you walk through. As long as you are in line for something before 11 you'll be able to ride. I'd definately do that. I've decided to switch my fireworks days so i'm in the EMH park for their fireworks. Since EP and MK are back to back EMH days both 9-11 i'm just going to hop before fireworks instead of after.

Thanks. As long as our energy holds up (but on our final night--why wouldn't it?!), we'll probably do this. We'll just have realistic expectations about how long it will take to get to EPCOT. :)

One of the things I love about WDW is the fireworks so most of my nights involve seeing both the MK and Epcot shows.

On the nights the MK fireworks are at 8pm, I have managed to walk through the gate at Epcot as early as 840. I have also just made it in at 9.
A few times, the fireworks were already underway by the time I got there.

Over the years I have tried all of these methods. They have all worked (but not every time although I have a pretty good success rate).
I watch the MK show from Town Square and as soon as the show ends I'm out the gate.
I have:
Ridden the Express monorail to the TTC
Ridden the Resort monorail to the TTC
Ridden the Ferry to the TTC.
At the TTC, I have transferred to the Epcot monorail.
I have also gone to my car and driven to Epcot.

I have ridden the launch to the Polynesian, walked through the cast parking lot to my car and driven to Epcot.

I have walked to the MK bus platforms and ridden the bus to the Boardwalk and entered through the International Gateway.
I have also ridden the bus to the Yacht & Beach club and entered through the International Gateway.

So yes, if you watched 9pm fireworks at MK you could absolutely be at Epcot by 10.

"Absolutely" depends on a number of outside factors.
Regardless... getting to Epcot at 10pm means that you'd only get under an hour of Epcot EMH.

Hence the word "could" as opposed to "will"
And that hour from 10-11pm is just as long as a one hour morning EMH.

Ok so of all those methods which transportation mode would you choose in a race?

You're right. When I looked online, it showed a bus route that doesn't exist. That will teach me to trust the internet. Thanks fo rthe correction.

As you are not looking at getting between the parks with a specific deadline as is the case with seeing the fireworks, but rather are wanting as much time left in the Epcot EMH as possible, I would go with the monorail.

It puts you at the front gate and close to most of what is open during that event.

Only if you get a Minnie van or get one of the Boardwalk Resort buses (Beach Club is the closest) and walk to Epcot via the International Gateway. But, I wouldn't bother, I'd do the Epcot fireworks and not waste any of the EMH at Epcot on a bus getting there.

Not sure if this factors in for you but the fireworks crowds could be much thicker on a park's EMH night. One way to look at your plans as they stand now is they avoid the bigger crowds for EMH.

Popping in to Epcot on your way back to the resort for a couple rides that last night isn't necessarily a bad option.
