Worth getting AAA just for discounts?

We have a great room rate from a PIN code offer so we aren't going to get an AP like we originally were to get a good room rate. Now we're wondering, is it worth it to join AAA for the discounts at restaurants? We'll be there 3 days in May and probably 2 days in December. I think we got an offer from AAA to join for about $55.

Do quick service restaurants in the park give you a discount? Any discounts at stores? If there is a list of places you get discounts (at Universal) I'd love to see it!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I use my AAA card all over universal every year and just about all restaurants give a 10% discount with exception of a few such as Emerils and Bubba Gumps and all the universal stores I went to and bought something gave me the same discount except for Endangered species at citywalk
So I think its worth it :thumbsup2

I don't know if there is a list. You get the 10% discount at almost all the restaurants at CityWalk (I believe it's all but Emeril's, Bubba Gump and one other), all the restaurants and stores in the parks (including the carts, yes, you can get a discount on your churro!), and I *believe* most if not all of the stores at CityWalk. If I remember correctly, the discount cannot be taken on alcohol or books, but just about anything else.

We went in January and last November, and I saved a huge amount -- I haven't added it up yet, but I remember thinking at the time that the AAA was a great bargain. And when we needed a tire changed in the driveway the other night, we called AAA and had it done for free, without any trouble. We actually have it for the car convenience, and the discounts are an awesome bonus!

You are also able to get discounts online and in local stores and other places with the AAA card --it's not just limited to a Universal trip! You should look at your local AAA online to see what other discounts might interest you.

In any case, enjoy your trip!
