I've been reading and reading until I am so confused. We are staying at CBR 3/11-18 and wondered if it is worth buying an AP to get the resort discount? Maybe someone could send me in the right direction. Where would I start? Thank you for any help. Sorry if this is one of those questions that has been asked many a time.

Probably not. If you are only there 7 nights, you probably won't break even. Now, if you are planning on going again before 3/11/07, that's a different story. Take the following figures:

How much is the AP compared to your ticket that you would buy otherwise? Let's say it costs $200 more for the AP.

Would you save more than $200 with the AP discount? Are there any rooms left for that time with the AP discount? If the answers to these questions is yes, than get the AP.

Am I confusing you even more or does that make sense?

Can you reserve a room with the AP discount before buying the ticket? I don't want the AP unless I can get the discount.

Right now only the King bedrooms are available for AP discount. If that works for you though, the savings is over $500 easily offsetting the AP cost.

As InstImpres said only King rooms are available for 3/11-3/18. If you can change your trip to 3/12-3/19 you can get AP room rates for the CBR and it would be less expensive.

A standard room at rack rates for 7 nights at CBR would be $1,365.98 the same room with the AP room rate is $858.62 a savings of $510.36 on the room. The AP now cost $441.98 and the 8 day MYW hopper which expires cost $253.47. The AP cost $188.51 more than the MYW pass. You save $510.36 on the room and spend $188.51 more for the pass so you would save $321.85 with the AP.

Besides the savings on this trip you would have the AP for a future trip within 1 year and AP discounts on some purchases. You could also buy the DDE for $50. I hope my math is correct. AP room rates for moderates and deluxes are normally worth getting an AP for. You just need to crunch the numbers.

It is my understanding that you can reserve at the AP rate with the intent of buying the AP. You will then have to show an activated AP at check-in to get the rate. Or, if you haven't activated your AP yet and just have the voucher, you will have to show the front desk your activated AP during your stay to get the rate - otherwise they will end up charging you rack rate. You can activate your voucher at Guest Services at any of the parks or at DTD.

I don't have an AP, but, like you, I have been researching and researching this over the last few days to see if it makes sense for us to buy one too!!! But until they release codes for Sept./Oct. (oh please oh please oh please!!) I won't know!!!! AAAAHHHH!!! the suspense is killing me!

If you have AAA you need to include their rates when you crunch your numbers. It appears that the AAA rate would be $1184 making your savings a bit smaller if you have AAA....$138 using the numbers in an earlier post.

The other thing is that you also need to include the exact pass that you would buy otherwise...MYW? MYW plus? MYW hopping plus? ...I can see leaving off no expire if you have no intention of returning this year.
