Worst vacation ever...

Deleting because I was looking for support, guess I came to the wrong place.

If you wanted support on how sucky the weather was, you did indeed come to the wrong place to complain. How about you talk to the weather man who told you it was going to be nice and sunny for your precious little trip.:confused3 Just a though...

wow, HOW RUDE ....that is so childish...
I am sorry your vacation was bad,it happens to all of us at one point,I hope your next trip is better....

O.K. , I didn't get to read the original post before she deleted it but, I did research some of her old posts. I think she was just venting and looking for a little sympathy. From what I read she really scrimped and saved (yes, I know most of us do) for this vacation at Disney, she even sold some stuff on e-bay to make extra cash. Anyway, she has only been to Disney 1 other time and she wanted this time to be extra special for her kids and her parents ( who were celebrating their 30th anniversary). However, due to a series of unfortunate events the trip that she had planned and saved for and thought would be phenominal turned out to be not quite so magical. I think that when things started to go bad she was stressed, overwhelmmed and a bit disappointed, that's why the very bad rain storm felt like a hurricane. Sometimes when people are stressed even the most minor of things can feel like the end of the world. Hopefully , her trip improved because let's face it, it couldn't get any worse.

I did read the OP before it was deleted...

while I feel for the OP, I think it was her 'woe is me' attitude that set people off the wrong way. There was a little bit too much of the victim mentality going on the first time I saw it... Sometimes all the scraping and saving and the special 30th anniversary trip, etc. makes it all too much pressure and when 1 thing goes wrong (much less 10!), you feel defeated.

Probably with a good night's sleep and some sunshine (hopefully not with sun poisoning this time!), she'll be able to see the humor in it and turn it into a funny story. "Remember when..."

It may have not been the perfect storybook vacation, but it can turn into another type of funny storybook vacation... 'look how they tried to get us down, but we still had fun!'

While I missed the OP, I did learn a valuable lesson from the rest of you. START AIRBORNE NOW!!!!!!! :lmao: Our trip is not for 4 months by the way. We have had minor stomach issues (diet changes, most likely), but nothing major. (Knocking on all of the wood in the house)
I still live by the motto that a bad day at WDW is better than any day at work!

Have you seen the June 2008 thread???

Our trip in Sept. will be myself ( the crazy diney freak.) MY DH 9just goes to make me happy) Daughter, SIL, 2 1/2 year old grandson and a 3-4 month old. Shes not born yet. I have everything planned. I also have a backup plans. Any trip is what you make of it. I know my grandson may not remember much of it, but it will be his first trip and I am so happy to be apart of that. I did it with my son and family last year. We have bought a packable tent for the bayby to use at the beach. Got a pac and play for her bed at the hotel. Bring favorte food for grandson, even though we are on the DDP Have po ncho for the rain and sun screen. I also get sun poisioning., but only if I have been in the sun way to long. I am a very easy going person. I am the on who trys to smooth things over. I know we have challanges on this Sept. trip, but it will be fun. We have 3 days at the beach 5 days at disney, one day we are watching the grandkids, so mom and dad can relive thier honeymoon trip which was at WDW. All of us are going to MK to watch Cohyn meet the mouse and any more charetures we run into, 1 day we are gong to watch the baby, so that DGS and mom and dad can take him to Disney play house and Animal kingdom. Then on the last day we are going to Epcot and do the Segway tour, and just enjoy at our pace, no kids the world showcade, the boardwalk and a nice dinner at LeCeiliers. I think if you have a back up plan or can be spontanous, all things will work out. I am ready for the challange.

Blessedby3(4),

Great TR and great attitude. I'm leaving in 21 days and I hope I don't have half the problems you had, but if we do... We'll still be at WDW!
We had our terrible vacation last July when we went to Daytona for a week. Had to buy a new truck, 4 of the 7 days we had torrential rains at the beach with highs in the low 70's... and much more that doesn't matter anymore.

I noticed your trips in your sig. Do your teens still enjoy going? Most of our friends with late teens, their kids think Disney is "for kids" and they don't want to spend that much time with mom and dad.

Thanks nascar-j, I hope your trip goes more smoothly than ours did!! Like you said- we were still in Disney World:thumbsup2
My kids do LOVE WDW. My oldest just turned 18 a couple of days ago and she is Disney's biggest fan. She loves singing and theater and her dream job would be to work at Disney in the B&B show!! (Mom wouldnt be too disappointed either!!) My DS is 12 and he loves it too. Not as much as DD18 as far as the shows and characters (I cant get any character pictures with him anymore:sad1:) , but he LOVES the rides and being there. DD9 is still in Love with WDW of course and our newest addition DD 4 1/2 mos has no choice:rotfl2: I guess you could say I have brainwashed the children over the years and we are a Disney Family:grouphug: for sure. Even DH loves to go although after this last trip he said that maybe the next one would be a "girls only" trip :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Im sure he will change his mind before we go back again
Good luck to you on your trip!!!

That's great that you've instilled the virtues in (brainwashed) your kids about Disney. My DW and I had been 5 or 6 times before we adopted our DS, but we stayed in St. Pete and drove over for the day. We would only hit one park and had never been to MK.
In 04 we made our first extended trip to Disney (4 days) and our first with our son who was 6 at the time. It was absolutely magical for all of us. MK must pipe something through the speakers because we all had this incredible feeling when ever we were walking around there. We went again in 05 with some friends, This time for a week and stayed on site (FtW). It wasn't quite the same for my DW. It was June and the heat and crowds along with our friends that didn't like to spend as much time in the parks contributed. For me and my DS, it's still really exciting. I'm guessing my DW will get that feeling back this trip. March weather will be great and we are going with just the 3 of us for 8 days. The crowds will probably be rediculous but we can manage. Even if she doesn't get as "hooked" as we are, she doesn't resist going...

You know what? I've read all these posts, and heres what I think:

A really crappy week at DisneyWorld is still better than a week of work and school in the dead of winter here in the Northeast.

We've had a few vacations that have ended up as crappy trips from hell ourselves. But guess what? Years later, THOSE are the trips that everyone in the family always still talks (and rolls on the floor laughing) about years and years later.
