worst trading spaces: hay, feathers, cardboard

Okay, I am still thinking about how angry I would be to come home and find cardboard on the walls and for the furniture. But then I hated the feathers too. Soooo
which one do you think would be the hardest to accept and which one will be the hardest to get off the walls? The hay, the feathers, or the cardboard?

The cardboard for sure---I can just see sheets of it sticking to the walls- ten times worse than wallpaper. Ugh. What the H*** was Hildi thinking.

I think the feathers would be tedious to pick off and might be a pain, but at least that was just hot glue- sometimes that just kind of flicks off over time....the hay probably wasn't too hard considering how much of it fell off during the episode.

I haven't seen this episode, but I also would have been peeved at Genevieve about MOSS on my walls! Talk about an instant allergy attack!

And I meant to add that I think those 5,000 flowers Hildi stapled to the bathroom wall looked kind of pretty, but the thought of picking those out makes my fingers hurt. I always think, "Okay, I could probably deal with this, but someday you're going to probably move and then you HAVE to take this horrible stuff down!" Ack!

The rudest I thought Hildi was was regarding the wine labels in the pastor's kitchen...not everyone is some wine afficiando who lives in France----I sometimes think Hildi has a very difficult time seeing something from another person's point of view. Doug often argues with the homeowners, but what he "usually" wants to do isn't anything way out of line; like painting furniture white, or staining floors. To me, if you can't handle having your furniture painted, either get it out of there and store it at a friend's house or DON'T SIGN UP FOR THE SHOW! The only time I though Doug was being a complete dorkus was the Prison of Love bedroom- it was pretty tongue in cheek, but it was like, Come on Doug, you are better than that! Toilets for holding a bench up? Wha??

I am just WAY too into this show!

Those flowers weren't just stapled... they were NAILED in with a nailgun! Even if you got them off, you'd have 8,000 holes in your walls and would have to redo the sheetrock. That's the one that upset me most, as it was just destructive.

I'm not that upset by the odd projects, but by the fact that she tends to make them irreversible, at least not easily so. I've used Liquid Nails and it will NOT just sand off that easily! Those walls will be a mess if they take that cardboard down. Ick!

She's just gonna get MORE ridiculous since she has this reputation established for being "wacky"!

I don't like her style, and she seems to have a real ego, too!

This show was just just another example of how the Hildibeast doesn't give a rodent's fanny about the homeowners who have to LIVE with her 'designs'. Poor Frank was worried sick if the homeowners would like what his design.

Did anyone notice in a recent episode that she said that she has WHITE walls in her home!?!?!

If I remember correctly it took the 'hay' homeowners about 50 manhours to remove the stuff.

It's hard to choose when they all are so awful in their own right, but I would have to say the cardboard. Like living in a box.

I cannot stand Hilde!!! She destroys people's properties without a second thought and walks away. I believe I had read that the people with the awful flowers had to have their walls replaced (never did understand why they were on the show with the awesome house they had). I would never never never allow Hildi into my house.

The worst part is her arrogance. Hay in a house that has little kids? She didn't give a darn and just figured it was their problem. I am sure that TLC just loves the controversy ratings that she drums up though.

It's be a hard choice for me. I haven't seen the hay show so i can only choose between feathers and cardboard. They were equally bad IMO. But the cardboard wins by the furniture as her worst room. Whoever said she has a hard time seeing from another person's view is absolutely right. In the cardboard episode the ppl working with her tried to talk her out of it. BUT OH NO. Hildi wouldn't dare hear any of it. "you're just seeing the pieces" she says. Boy, if she did that to my room she'd be getting a bill for the damages lemme tell ya.

AND CANDLES ON CARDBOARD???

I would have to say feathers, did Hildi even inquire if the homeowners had allergies. If my walls were done if feathers both my DH and DS would have to move out.

Hildi is a great reason why I would never do TS. It used to be I would dread Doug doing my home, now I would barricade the door if I saw her coming.

My only question is do you think they tell her to be more and mopre outrageous to boost ratings?

She did inquire, or she assumed they didn't because she saw they had down pillows. She did say something about it though...
