I can't stress enough how unenjoyable Florida is in July. It rains everyday and is freakin' hot. Not to mention everyone and their brother is there making the lines 180 minutes long.

I love to go in January-February, early May or late November. The temps are perfect and even with any rehabs, the short lines more than make up for it.

I vote for August. It is unbearably hot. And I live in Mobile, AL, a town where it is hard to breath in the summertime because of the heat & humidity.

Last August, we managed to get to WDW for a one day trip (thank you Hurricane Katrina). We had walked to the beginning of Main Street & were headed for the castle when a CM came briskly walking up to us. "Excuse me but are you two alright?" she asked with a very concerned look in her eye. We were sweating so much & our faces were so red she said that she was scared we were going to pass out and she had came over out of concern for our health! She got us some water & was so sweet to us. The pictures from that day are hilarious. My DH's shirt looks 2-toned (you know, grey shirt + moisture) and my shirt has a black stripe across it where the dye from my backpack straps had bled into the fabric.

Never again in August, unless it's free or a REALLY great deal. Sbella

Wow! I am so in the minority right now. I actually LOVE going in July. Summer is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the sun! The heat can be a little much, but I feel like it's definitely bearable. As for the crowds, I think it would be weird to go to WDW and not be surrounded by lots of people. I like when it's full. The parks are open later and the shows are constantly going. Not much is usually closed for rehab either. I couldn't imagine myself going any other time. Am I the ONLY ONE who feels this way???

Yes, I too don't mind the heat or humidity. But don't like crowds :crowded: . I have been to Florida in July, but not to WDW. I go to WDW in the off season, no crowds :crowded: and still warm.

July-HOT HOT HOT. Although we have been twice in July. Just know it going to be hot and crowded. But I enjoy Disney anytime I can go. :thumbsup2

I voted July for all the reasons everyone else listed.

But I would like to know - what does everyone consider hot? We were there May 2 - May 9 this year and it was 95° everyday and I didn't think it was all that bad. The humidity was relatively low though so maybe that's the difference. Does it get much hotter then that though?

The thing that bugs me is when it is not only hot - but the humidity is high as well. It gets that way here in Iowa. 90° - 100° days with very high humidity... to me it's very hot. But I've been on lots of vacations down in the Caribbean and Mexico and it doesn't seem any hotter than Iowa in the summer.

Orlando has a average high of 92° in July. By comparison - Iowa has an average high of only 86°... but usually a few days get near 100°.

So I guess the question is - how hot does it get on a HOT July summer day in central Florida?

I was listening to a Disney podcast one day, and I remember hearing that May was the hottest month. Not by average high temps - but the hottest individual days. Has anyone else heard this?

No No !!!! You're not the only one! I have been to WDW in July a couple of times and I love the atmosphere of the crowds, the longer days and park hours. Much more alive than January. The pools are delicious, the waterparks, so much fun! Besides, where can you go in July where there is no crowds? I know around here it gets pretty bad so I figure might as well be crowded at WDW!

Another reason I love July is that DH can take a longer vacation than the standard 7 days. So being able to go for a longer stay really makes it so much easier.

If it weren't for the free dining, I'd be heading there in July again....

I chose July also...

Mostly because of the crowds and humidity.
Also, except for the Deluxes you are still in Regular or Summer season now and the room rates are higher.

We are planning an end of August trip next year... Less crowds, value season, but still hot/humid. Two of the big negatives from July are gone... the weather I can deal with.

Nov/Dec are such great times to go!! Even with shorter park hours it is much less crowded and easier to stay in the park without wearing out or wilting. Also, you do get 80 degree days so water parks are not completely out of the question.

Yep, another vote for July. So hot/humid I feel like I will melt. The crowds are so bad it makes us all very cranky.
Give me off season travel any day- January might be chilly but I'll take 50-60 over minus 10 any day! Even better late November!

I am so amazed at how many people chose July. It's my absolutely most favorite month to go to WDW. :teeth:

I just find the crowds and the fact that everything is up and running really, really festive. With Fastpass, the crowds don't mean all that much anymore.

I love to hit the waterparks on those hot, humid days. It makes every slide a luxury - no shivering or dreading cold water. Laying by the hotel pool and just loving the moment you step into the water because it's so refreshing!

I love July. Now what I want to know is, if everyone hates it, why are there so many people there? ;)

I voted July because of the combination of heat and crowds. Either one of those factors alone would be okay. We went there during July a couple of summers ago.

July would be bearable if you follow the early to the parks sort of itinerary and then a couple of hours at the pool or nap in the afternoon before dinner at the parks again.

IF July is the only month I could go, I would definately go!!!

I have to imagine that it is July. The heat would kill me. My poor DS will never go on his B-day! :sad2:

I did August in 1998 have NEVER GONE IN AUGUST EVER AGAIN! :sad2: Its HOT and thats when the "Hurricanes" start coming, remember Andrew in August anyone? :rolleyes1

I voted for July too, But I can handle the heat, the rain, and the crowds. It's the parents screaming at their hot, tired, dehydrated children I can't stand.

It's a tie between April and July.

Springbreak is a zoo!

AND

July is hot, hot, hot! :sunny:

But planning is really the key. I wouldn't go during one of these busy times without the help of TourGuide Mike.

Even though we never went at that time I voted for July also thinking about the heat.

September-Too Many Hurricanes. Spending my time in the Hotel Room is not my idea of a fun WDW trip. :happytv: :confused3

I voted for July. Even though March and late December are probably more crowded, the huge crowds along with the fact that it's the hottest month would make it the worst time to go. When my sister and I were in school, the only time we could go was the summer, so we always went in late August. It was definitely hot, but the crowds were never that bad.

And I can't believe that so many people picked January! You should all try it sometime. Then again, maybe not because then there will be less crowds for when I go in January! :teeth:

The weather is perfect, not too hot or cold. The last time we went in January it was mid 70's, with some nights getting a little chilly, but with our sweatshirts we weren't cold at all. Rehabs aren't that bad because it's not like they close everything down. When we went it was only Buzz Lightyear and Test Track. But that wasn't a big deal because we still had Splash Mountain, RnRC, Tower of Terror, Soarin and so on. Also there's always one water park open. And the early hours really aren't that early. Animal Kingdom always closes pretty early, which is why it's always a morning park for us. Epcot is pretty much always open until 9 year round. And MGM and MK closed at around 8 when we were there, which isn't that early. The good thing about closing a little earlier though, is that it gives us time to go do other things at night....like go to Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, other resorts, or just relaxing at our resort. And the best thing about January...the almost nonexistant crowds!!

I'm so happy we tried going in January...I would do it every year from now on if I could.
