It's a bat for me, too, and it also got in via the wood stove. I actually like bats, just not the rabies risk.

Probably the worst, and only because I fear them immensely, was a large snake that got into the attached garage. Thank heavens it never got to the house itself, and I was able to coax it out with the garage door open, but that was a day I'll always remember. I'm a bit more careful about leaving the door open and unattended now for sure.

A raccoon got in through the dog door in the garage and got into the dog food.

Rats were the worst - we have mice all the time - older home that has many little cracks but the rats chewed a hole in the drywell and entered the crawl space. It took 3 months to finally catch them all.

Raccoon - got into the unused attic space and then proceeded to have babies. We got her captured but the babies were not going in and out yet. Fell through a cabinet in the bathroom into the tub. 2 pairs of 2. Animal control and the police were out to capture for us. Oh and the kicker was mama knocked a flue loose in there and carbon monoxide was collecting. It was still warm and windows were mostly still open and the worst was over the living room where we did not spend much time, but we all could have died from that one.

Snake - once our cats brought one in as a ‘gift’ (half dead and completely perforated from the cats playing with it) and once my husband thinks he did when he kinda swept something in when he closed the door.
