I am so worried about the crowds for the first weekend of the celebration. I am taking my daughter on a last minute long weekend trip from May 6-May 9th. I am wondering how touringplans.com came up with a 7 for that time frame. Althought the moderates are booked, there seems to be a lot of hotel availability. We always go in the off season and will not enjoy waiting in long lines.I am considering cancelling my Disney reservations and going to the Hard Rock and just doing the Universal parks. We really love Universal and IOA, but I was kind of in the mood for Disney (but not with wicked crowds)!! My daughter says she can get "psyched" for either plan. Also, we are going on a family trip to Disney in Sept. Help. Anyone have any info. or advice? Thanks!

My hubby has been worried about the same thing. We are going May 5-May 10. We go in May a lot and have always enjoyed the low crowd level. All I can say is that I am hopeful because I had no problem whatsoever getting priority seating for the exact places and times that I wanted - this almost NEVER happens, and we like to go to popular restaurants at popular times. PLUS, this is a last minute trip, so there was this kind of availability just last week. I'm really hoping that a lot of people will hold off to combine the celebration with Star Wars weekends, but who knows!?! I would hate to see you cancel - We'll keep our fingers crossed!

not sure how the celebration will effect but last year's Mother's Day crowds were fine...

I have had to change our dining plans several times and I have to say, I have gotten EVERYTHING I have wanted. I'm keeping our finger, toes, and eyes crossed! :earseek:
:wizard: Hopefully the crowds will die down after the weekend!

Same here on dining plans. We went last Mother's Day and the crowd levels were fine. My main concern was the celebration, but I have had no trouble making PS. We are there May 5-11. Can't wait!!

My husband and I will be there from May 5 - 10, too. Last night I phoned to rearrange a few of our ps's. No problem for me, either! That did make me feel better about the whole crowd thing.

I just know from our past trips in Aug, Nov, and Feb, that the UG's numbers really didn't coordinate with the crowds I experienced, so I am not going to let that bother me at all.

This will be the first time w/out kids and we won't be pushing a stroller. I think that alone will make crowds seem more manageable!!

We went 2 years ago over Mother's Day and it was our best trip ever. It was our least crowded trip ever (including our most recent trip in November). The weather was also wonderful!
