Hello! My dh just booked us last week through travelocity for six nights in the world leaving Saturday!!!! He is soooo sweet to me (my birthday surprise).. any way I have read a couple of threads about people getting bumped or moved around because of over booking. Our rooms are paid in full (3 nights All Star Sports, 3 nights POR) but since they were booked through travelocity NOT cro will we get less than magical treatment if these resorts are overbooked?

Has anyone else traveled to Disney on a travelocity reservation? Any problems?

I don't mean to borrow trouble, I just want to be prepared with accurate information should something come up... my dh's blood pressure couldn't take an argument in public at the front desk... he hates that.

We've had good service through Travelocity for a cruise, but we took steps to ensure that the cruise line's records matched what Travelocity promised us, as soon as we were able. I doubt most companies that work through travel agents deliberately provide poorer accommodations to customers that use travel agents, but I know that there is often a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding that is often exacerbated by an extra layer of pass-through in the transaction. If in doubt, ask for clarifications, in writing.

I have looked at Travelocity and used it for other travel, but in my experience it hasn't been much cheaper for WDW than the WDW website offers. I would reccommend that you call the resort directly and confirm your reservation. I have used Travelocity, Priceline, Orbitz and Expedia without any problems. It is an awesome way to travel for less in most cases, especially when you combine airfare with hotels and cars.

Relax, and enjoy!

Don't worry about it. The chance of being moved is extremely minimal (very few people on the boards have mentioned being bumped). Also, since you're staying at a value resort, you can't be bumped to a lower class of resort.....

If you do get bumped it will be an upgrade: value to moderate, moderate to deluxe. The chances are minimal. Do call WDW to confirm your ressie. Checking in early in the day as possible also helps.

I wouldn't worry about "less magic". All of the bookings are in the same computer system, so everyone will receive the same treatment.

Hi Thanks for all your responses. I feel better.

This trip was a last minute one. I am a ta but I don't qualify for any disounts yet. I have booked several WDW trip ($30,000 worth) but won't be able to get any discounts until AFTER my clients have traveled which won't be until September. I don't have my CLIA card yet either. I have passed with honors the CDK and am an acitve agent, but... I guess I have to proove myself before I get the perks. So my dh was trying to either get us a room through CRO as me as the agent with AP discount (no availability) or at rack (still no availability) so he ended up booking on travelocity splitting our stay. I am not happy about not getting the commission but I would rather stay on site and not get the commission than stay off site and get the commission.

My Travelocity experience was pretty good. Far from being bumped, we were upgraded to a savannah view at AKL. The only thing that bothered me was that I tried to call Disney directly to confirm my ressies and room request (just crib and non-smoking) and, just like booking with any another TA, they wouldn't talk to me at all. I never was able to confirm my ressies, so I was a tad worried about showing up at 1 am with 2 small kids in tow, relying on the Travelocity number. As I said, it all went swimmingly though.

I wouldn't worry too much about being bumped....but I can't say it doesn't happen. Typically, reservations that are CRO/WDTC are priority and at all costs are not bumped to another location. I know what happened this past Memorial Day when All Star was oversold by about 250 rooms, Travelocity/Expedia/FL Residents were transferred to other resorts, some even moved to resorts on 192.
