Worried about scrappers....

My kids are fairly new at pin trading. The last time we went to Disneyland they got really into it. We bought them 2 starter sets each (from in the parks) and just let them trade with CM's.

Now we are going back at Christmas and Dh and I are going to let them bring along their lanyard from our last trip, as well as buy them 1 starter set each. What I am worried about is I just happened to stumble upon a thread about scrappers.

So what happens if some of the pins from our last trip are scrappers? All the kids did was trade with CM's, but from what I read on here that is how they would have got them.

We are not serious collectors, and I won't be able to tell what is real and what is fake. And honestly, it doesn't bother me if they have some fake pins as long as they like them, what is worrying me is, will the CM's turn them away?
That would be devastating to my kids. Is this a real worry? I won't go out of my way to buy fake pins, but we also aren't serious enough collectors for me to research every single pin we have either. I did try to look on pinpics, but I found it confusing as I have no idea what number each pin is.

:confused3

no..you will be just fine...
the scrapper threads that you are referring to..
really concern...
people that want to buy bulk lots on ebay...
Do not worry..
you will not be turned down.:)

CMs will not turn you away, at the most if they suspected the kids (or you) had a scrapper they would do the trade and put the pin you give them in their pocket to be looked at later. But you will not be turned away from CM's, unless they already the pin on their lanyard, then they might ask if you have a different pin.

We just got back from WDW and did a lot of pin trading. As PPs have said, if the CM suspects the pin is a scrapper they might put it aside or they might just put it on their lanyards anyway. Either way, your children won't be told they can't trade because their pin might be a scapper.
