I see Disney has snapped up several contracts recently with their ROFR. I am seriously in the hunt for my purchase but am pretty worried anything in the range I am looking for will get snagged in ROFR. Is there anything I should do to help me get a little better chance of making it through?

Be patient. Don't rush anything. Keep trying if the contract is taken by Disney.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. That's my motto and I'm sticking to it. :flower:
My first attempt didn't make it through ROFR, but I'm back in the saddle again and hoping for a little pixie dust this time. pixiedust:

It's not always just about the price. No one really knows for sure why or when a purchase passes (or doesn't) pass ROFR.

Sometimes, DVD may need a contract associated with a particular unit to make a new contract. If it happens to be the one you want, they may take it even if the price is quite high compared to others they just waived. No way for anyone to know ahead of time in those cases.

It's hard to wait, but that's all you can do right now.

Good luck!

We're currently waiting on a contract sent to ROFR on 1/2/15. Where to you "see" that Disney has recently snapped up several contracts?

Good luck with your search.

As people have stated no one knows the real reasons behind ROFR but just don't get your hopes up if you are trying to get something passed that is well below the average sold price. I don't understand people on the boards who are crushed when their contract $10 below the average price doesn't pass. Sometimes it worth paying a few extra dollars if it's a contract you really want.

Just keep trying!! I lost 2 to the Mouse before he let me keep one! And when my 3rd one went through there were many for more $$ getting taken.

well someone had already made an offer on the one i spotted... little did I realize there is a "priorty" list to get on to get early emails for contracts about to post to the public /sigh. So i have went and asked for 3 or 4 sites to put me on a priority notice list.

I sent an email with an offer yesterday 12 minutes after I received the priority list...got an email back from the agent exactly 20 mins later saying 2 buyers were already in a bidding war for the contract. You've gotta move quick!

Was that by any chance one of the BWV small contracts that got emailed out yesterday? I saw the email yesterday but noticed it never posted to the search engine listings-Saw today they are both sale pending-we are in the process of buying an almost identical contract (passed ROFR last week) but we were fortunate to make the offer first thing the day after it was emailed out and still get it-think things may have been a little slower in Dec (but still there had been an offer already made on that one but they wanted seller to pay closing costs so they lost out). Wonder what a bidding war means? Actually selling above original asking price? Might happen if Disney really has been quoting $155 now for direct BWV :scared::scared:
