Worried about Discount Timing

I was looking at the Mousesavers historical discount info that someone else kindly posted, and it worried me.

I've booked Sept 2011 for free dining for 6 people, but I REALLY want to move into October for a shot at cooler weather. (I nearly melted in Sept this year)

So I thought I'd keep it as is and watch for a Fall discount. But when I looked at the data, it looks like this year, they didn't announce the October discounts until late summer!! That's scary. We all know that we need 6 months of lead time for ADRs!!

UGH! I don't know what to do. :(

Well, you don't have to have a resort reservation to make ADR's - you just lose out on the +10 benefit. So if you get to the 180 point for October and nothing has been released, make the ADR's anyway and then cancel if you don't use them (please).

To be honest, October's weather isn't all that much different from September's weather. You would need to push your trip down to around the beginning of November to get noticeably cooler temperatures on a consistent basis. Personally, I'd stick with September because the crowds are so much smaller that the lines for attractions are pretty much nonexistent.

You're right about discounts not coming out until summer traditionally, but they announced the rest of the year so uncharacteristically early that it's hard to know what the discount timeline will be this year. I have high hopes that it will be around Christmastime when the current free dining offer expires.
