Worried about DD :(

I have no useful advice but I wanted to let you know I'll be thinking of you and hope that your holiday happens with your eldest DD and you all have a great time. It's good that you have already got a contingency plan in place so that if the worst does happen you aren't left in a quandry wondering what to do. for you all

Thank you.

My life is full of contingency plans.;)

The drowsy dramamine also helps take the edge off.

That reminds me - Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) can help take the edge off and make you sleepy at the same time. I use it a lot when I travel.

Also, remind her that she will not ruin the trip if she does have a panic or anxiety attack. I used to worry about ruining our vacations a lot when I was younger and it helps to be reminded :headache:

We used Phenergan as it is has the same effect. I will definitely talk to her before we go about doing what she can. We have learnt over the years that trying to 'talk her round' only makes her feel worse. Now we give her two choices; she either participates or she doesn't, we don't get into lengthy discussions or give loads of alternatives. This helps her to feel less pressured.

Have no advice but hope it all works out for you Juliette & you have a fab trip:hug:

Hi Juliette, another one here with not much advice, but just wanted to send big :grouphug: to you all and hope you have a magical holiday

I'm so sorry your poor DD has to suffer with this. I don't have any advice but just wanted to send a

Our daughter has aspergers and is very anxious too but she's only 4 so its early days. Once they are young adults hopefully there is a lot more open to them re medication/therapy etc to help.

I hope the holidays is full of surprises and pixie dust for all of you :tink:

Thank you Eloise.:) My DD was assessed for Autism as she exhibits a lot of the same behaviours. The psychiatrist ruled it out as she could make eye contact and had not had language development problems as a child.:confused3 I'm not convinced as I have taught children with Autism and the spectrum seems huge to me. The acute anxiety, desire for order/control, routine and the need to have a mega-detailed itinery are all part of her regular behaviour.
