World's Largest McDonalds

Has anyone been to this McDonalds on Sand Lake near International Blvd? I remember hearing they have more food besides the normal McDonalds fare. It's just me and the kiddos going down next week and they always want to stop but we are always in such a big hurry to get to RPR, DH won't stop. I was thinking of eating dinner there the night before we check in at RPR. What's on the dinner menu?

I remember the place being really loud and crowded (December 2002) - there is a pizza oven and you are right they do have a bigger selection. There is an arcade (rundown) and a tube playplace... we were glad to go once, but probably won't return... didn't seem as if they had enough help and things were pretty dirty. Maybe it has improved?

I've got the menu at my desk at work (because the very idea of a McDonalds with a menu was too crazy to not share with my coworkers). I'll try to bring it home tonight and give you a run down of their selection (I want to say theu had a website as well, though googling doesn't seem to be helping much).

I hate to ruin this part, but according to various websites, the World's Largest McDonalds is either in Orlando, Oklahoma, Russia, China, or somewhere along the American/Canadian border.

One day, maybe we'll know the truth. Until then...I like the one in Florida.

They have pizza and milkshakes. The prices tend to be higher than other McDonald's in the area.

We are ging to US in May and we are big pizza lovers. How would you rate the pizza at McDonalds?

I went there a couple of weeks ago. I loved the merchandise shop! (think Grimace tee) I had a philly cheese steak that was really good. My kids had the standard happy meals. I really liked it. I am going to try it again next weekend.

You can't miss it. Just off the Sand Lake Road Exit on I-4, just steps away from the traffic magnet of I-4, there rests the two story Mickey D's that claims to be the world's largest -- along with the largest McDonald's PlayPlace kiddie play area.

Believe it. Even the skeptical Roadside America gives the location its proper props, having displaced a glasshouse McDonald's in Oklahoma for that honor.

What's inside? Glad you asked. The menu goes beyond your standard fare. Sure, you can fill that Big Mac craving but you can also order an oven-baked pizza. You can also have grilled panini sandwiches -- made to order -- and there's an actual ice cream scoop shop inside as well. Upstairs you will find a huge McPlayPlace area. More than half of the area is set aside for arcade and prize redemption games that will burn through that Happy Meal money faster than you can say "Hamburglar!" But you also have the free assortment of tunnels, ball crawls and slides.

But downstairs is where all of the food action is. It's somewhat themed too. Remember the old commercials with the moon playing "Mack the Knife" on the piano? He lives on here as do various levels (and an elevator to get to the second floor if you prefer that over the stairs).

Tom, the pizza is VERY ordinary. It's edible but not spectacular. I wouldn't go out of my way just for the pizza. However, look around the area brochure racks. You will often find buy one pizza get one free coupons for that McDonald's.

The one on Sand Lake is self-described as "The World's largest Playplace", not the worlds largest McDonald's.
The largest McDonald's is in Russia.

On our trip last summer we went, and it was very large........ tons of food selections, a little bit confusing, and the people were in no hurry to offer "help"!!! they looked at us, like we were tourist........ lol. My 3 year old really liked it, my other sons played a few games, then they were ready to go. It is loud, crowded and frankly a hyped up mcd's. I'd say go once....... what the heck.... but it is not a must.

We went this last summer. I would not return. All though staff was very friendly and it was nice to have an expanded menu(they had tons of dessert selections including a big ice cream section, cheesecake you name it) The restaurant itself was not clean and too busy for my taste.

I thought it was run down and dirty as well. But, I guess it is a must see if you have young Mcdonald's lovers. It looks impressive from the outside. Don't miss the live alligators! They were very small, but my 3 year old looked at them forever.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I may punt the idea after reading some of the posts. I can't deal with dirty restaurants. We won't be driving right by it so my kids probably won't remember it's there.
