Can anyone recommend a good vacation destination in the World Passport connection that would appeal to a 12 and 14 year old? We're not big beach people, but would prefer somewhere that has nice swimming facilities, golf, and activities/site seeing.

It partly depends on when, length of vacation, drive vs fly, finances and the like. Things that come to mind are Williamsburg (several nice resorts and easy to get), Boston (Marriott only), HH (Marriott's, DVC), Caribbean (easy for summer), Cancun (esp the Royals), Branson (easy to get and lots to do), CA Desert (HOT in summer), Tahoe (up and coming), Rockies. As for resorts in the II-DVC list, I'm not with the list right now so this will be from Memory.

From a specific resort stance, I'd say many of the top Marriott's would fit the bill. Hyatt's in Key West, anywhere on Captiva or Sanibel, Marriott or Williamsburg Plantation there, Franz Klammer Lodge, Park City Marriott's, St. James CO, Marriott's and Hyatt's in CO and Rockies, many HI places, Paradise Village in Puerto Vallarta, Royals in Cancun. I'd even put North Carolina Mountains and Gatlinburg as good spots. Caribbean would be best for Harborside in Bahama's, several Aruba properties, Grand Caymans (2 resorts), Puerto Rico (? Hyatt), Westin St. Johns. I'm sure there are others I wish I'd have mentioned once I get through.

Give more info and we could offer more appropriate suggestions. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. We're probably interested in either 1 week in May or 2 weeks in early June. We could fly or drive, depending on the destination and the length of the trip. Finances aren't a big concern. Have you been to any of the places you listed?

I've seen most of the resorts on Maui and Kauai. All Marriotts, DVC and several others on HH. Add to that Marriott at Ocean Point, Grande Vista, Cypress Harbour, Williamsburg that I've visited. HH and Williamsburg as well as Myrtle Beach come to mind for that time as it should be easy to get something during that time. There are also a number of places in the North East, Gatlinburg and the like. Good luck.

We went to Atlantis last March and that was definetly a family vacation spot. Many activities for kids of all ages. The water activities (pools) are fabulous; lots of water slides; plus, the many aquariums. There is also a Camp Discovery for kids (can't remember age requirements, though you could check on the atlantis website). After our first trip "home" to BCV next March, we plan on trying to get back to Atlantis for our next vacation.
