Can anyone post the points chart for the World Passport collection? I know they published a simplified points schedule, but the link for it on the DVC website doesn't work and we never got a new guide this year.
Can someone explain how the exchange works with trading a week at a DVC resort? Do you have to make the reservation at your home resort within the valid points time, and then you can trade out for anytime i nteh next two years?
We're considering buying and or some points and I want to know what is involved in doing this.
The full schedule is
Studio 106 low season/123 Mid/134 High
1BR 124 low season/144 Mid/160 High
2BR 207 low season/252 Mid/270 High
3BR 276 low season/317 Mid/349 High
The basic system is you decide where you want to go, preferably what resorts you want/the weeks you will accept and call DVC. If they have it setting there, you say OK and DVC takes the points. If it's not there, you can set up an ongoing search. IF DVC finds what you want, they will call you and you can say yes or no. I think they are charging the $75 fee up front but will refund it if appropriate.
What I'd recommend is researching the resorts in detail before you place a search or accept an exchange. You can ask here, look on the Web and at places like TUG and Timesharing today.
Thanks Dean...I still don't get the part about depositing the week. What are the time limits and/or resort restrictions on doign this? Does it have to be yor home resort?
Sorry so many ??? but couldn't find these answers anywhere.
Wildcatwmn, I don't think you have to worry about any of that. DVC just charges you the points, now. It used to be that they would figure out what season you wanted for the resort you're trading to, then match it with the cheapest DVC alternative for your trade. But now it's a set points chart.
You don't need to worry about what's deposited UNLESS you are making a deposit first. Just worry about what you want and whether you will have the points for it.
Thanks all for the help. I thin kwe are going to pass on this "deal." As I understand itwe would have had to deposit the points first as they expire on June 1 and would have to be deposited by April 1 in order for usto do anything with them in the future.
