So, now that the World of Color has been running for several months, I am wondering how the crowds are, and if the Fast Pass system for viewing is working efficiently. Is the use of the Grizzly Rapids Fast Pass machines going to be permanent? Or is something else planned for the future?

Heading to the land for the first time since May...just wondering how it is all running...

i think its working well. I just think the whole 1st show letting all 3 colors stand in the same place is still a HUGE traffic jam...

I hope they eventually change the Fastpass thing. While it has it's upsides, I think it's fairly annoying. I like how Fantasmic is, a free-for-all. Get there earlier enough to secure your viewing area ;)

We made ressies at AG for two nights we are there - one for late show on Saturday (10:15 PM) and one for the early show on Sunday (9:00 PM). Not sure we want to do the show twice nor do I think we would want to do AG both nights. Kids are now asking for BB - so need to cancel one of the ressies for AG. Is it an eaiser wait for the later show?? Thought I would ask before we cancel Sunday night.:confused3

for the later show, you could buy a walk-up picnic for lunch, which comes with a Fastpass for the later show.

Disgram23kids,
Although I have not done the dining reservations, I will say that I would prefer to wait for the later show. I felt it was so much more organized than the first show. No one was pushing and shoving, and lining up and getting into the viewing area was much less of a hassle for the second show.
Like Albort said, the wait for the first show is a mess!

When we saw the WOC two weeks ago, they had two separate waiting areas, Each area is assigned two colors. It will help to ask a CM where each color FP is suppose to wait. On the day we saw it there was only one show, so I don't know if they change it for a later show.

Almost certainly the FPs for WOC are not permanent. According to Al Lutz they considered using the old ITTBAB FP machines for WOC but decided to use GRR in the end. However that really disrupts GRR. The ITTBAB machines are in an area that is near the Cars Land construction area which may cause over crowding there. So who knows?

Eventually WOC FP will be dropped IMO and will work something like Fantasmic at DL - first come first served. But do not expect that for the next year - or two.

We arrived yesterday and saw WOC last night for first time. There was only one show at 8:15. Not organized. They need to realize dispite having FP pepple want to and will line up early. Was a mess- a wall of people all not sure where to go. We asked 5 dif cast members and each had a different answer where we should be or do. Besides that show was breathtaking!

We went last week, got our fastpass from the Grizzlie area, blue section I think it was, got to the show waiting about 1/2 an hour and then watched the show. There were people around us who seemed stressed or worried that they would be able to see but once the show started everyone was fine and everyone could see. If you dont stress or bring any un-nescessary stress to the show and see it as an opportunity to just hang out and relax for a few mins prior to the show then you will enjoy it like we did, the show was AMAZING!

Well said. I hope to have your attitude when I see it. :thumbsup2

I saw the show for the first time 11/8 with a Pre-order picnic FP. Which I bought online at 10pm on 11/7. Just to show you how probably non-busy a night I attended. This was the next to last night of my trip so also probably a testament to how it rated on my "priority of things to do and see scale."

I was alone and worked during the day so wouldn't be able to get a FP at GRR. I did talk to a couple that did the GRR FP that morning and they said it went really quickly, in fact too quickly. They actually kept hanging back until all of the first color had been given out so they could get their choice of the second color.

I had read on the Dis about the yellow fire hydrant and went in about 15 min. after they opened with a hot chocolate and cookie in hand (from the bakery on the wharf). The hydrant rail had already been staked out and there is a little alcove there created with a tree and the railing and about 3 people were in there. Just before the show started the "rest" of their party showed up and I would say they had about 10 people in there, very funny. Then I viewed over their shoulders and the group behind me complained for about half the show about not being able to see (those who show up later really cannot complain, except that we were all deceived by the group that suddenly turned from 3 heads to 10--a word of warning while picking your spot--might be worth asking the group in front of you to see if they expect their party to triple).

This was just my experience on one night. I hope you enjoy your trip.

We were there 10/30 - 11/9 and only saw WOC once (the boys are only 4 and don't know most of the stuff shown). I've seen Fantasmic at WDW, and I have to say that the Tron portion of WOC is better than the rest of WOC and Fantasmic combined. It is amazing!

I think Disney could've planned the viewing area a little better with more "stadium" style levels instead of just several steps to the next level. I love PP and the feel of an old-time Boardwalk though. It is difficult to see everything if you are short (I am only 5' 5") even when we had preferred dining passes from AG. However, I strongly recommend getting these passes if you can afford it. The difference in crowd size and having to jockey for position was evident. And you definitely don't need to get there early. We walked up at 8:10 after doing TSMM while all the FP people had to line up or save their place.

That's good to know. We have AG/WOC dinner package booked for the 26th and was worried about having to wait an hour to get to our "spot" and then wait another hour for the show. With a toddler in tow it wasn't looking pretty.
