We are planning to reserve a WOC dining package for September 21st (Monday evening) and our ADR is quickly approaching. How do we decide which dining time that we want when the schedule for WOC shows won't be available yet?

I'm willing to bet that the park will close at 8 with an 8:15pm show time. So you would have to be done eating at 8 at the absolute latest.

My guess is that WOC will likely move to one time by then (8:30ish?). I would imagine when your 60 days is here and you make a reservation specifically for a dining package it won't let you reserve outside the appropriate time.

I agree with planningjollyholiday that DCA is likely to close at 8:00 pm (DCA closed at 8:00 pm on most weekday nights in September in 2014), which means WoC is likely to shown only once per night (probably at at 8:15 pm based on 2014). You can get a sense of last year's September schedule from the wdwinfo archive. So in terms the WoC dining packages, it won't necessarily matter what time you make your reservation for because there is only one showing.

In terms of making an ADR, I don't know if you're a WDW Vet, but just note that making DLR reservations is much easier than it is at WDW. You don't really have to worry about being online right when the system rolls (which happens somewhere between midnight and 6:00 am Pacific) because ADRs just don't go that fast. You can often make prime dining ADRs much closer to your trip. Also, if the dining packages (for WoC or F!) show as being unavailable right at the 60-day mark, it probably means they haven't been loaded into the system yet.

Thanks for answering the Poster's question! I have to make my reservations tomorrow, and was wondering the same thing. It's good to know that I wont lose a reservation if I dont get it in EARLY in the morning! Thanks!

Good to know! We are interested in Carthay Circle. Any idea on how long it usually takes to eat dinner there?

i was hoping that was how the system works, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Wow- what a detailed response!! We want to eat dinner and then go to the WoC show. I'll take a look at last year's schedule- that should help a lot!

Yes- we are very experienced with WDW reservations- which made me very concerned about DLR reservations. It's nice to know that I don't need to feel as pressured for DLR. Strange that it isn't a specific time for reservations to begin.

This is a special treat for us to go to Disneyland. And I'll be celebrating my 60th birthday along with Disneyland. So- I wanted to make sure that I got the ADR that we want.

Many thanks for your hep!!

@Glendamax! I'm sure you don't remember that at one point I think I posted on a thread of yours, but I remember you! Good to see you back!

And I should probably read through this thread now. :)

Thanks MiceMagic for posting this thread.
I am pretty much the same as you...an expereinced WDW planner
(I have an AP for WDW)
I will be there Sept 17-21 for the 1st time.
I'm trying to decide on ADR's and dining packages as well.

Just a heads up -- if the show is at 8 or 9pm, they'll make you have your dinner begin no later than 530 or 6pm. This is because the World of Color dining can take up to two hours and they want you to have plenty of time.

Recommend Wine Country as the restaurant because of its proximity and speediness of food service.

The line-up area for dining packages is in front of the Little Mermaid ride. They'll open up the area about 30ish minutes before the show.. DO NOT GO INTO THE SPLASH ZONE even though the area is clear. We got soaked and looked like we came off Grizzly River Rapids! Still fun and a beautiful show. Neal Patrick Harris is great!!

WOW really? 2 hrs just for a regular meal?
It took 3 hrs for my dinner at Victoria n Albert's at WDW but that was 6 courses and expected.

Isn't it crazy?! I've had the meal at least a half-dozen times and it's been anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours. I do not understand why it takes so long.

HEY! Thank you! It's been a LONG time!

I did make my reservation for Carthay Circle at 6pm. I figured that I'd have enough time to eat, if the show started at 8pm. Hopefully they will post the September show times soon!

I was hoping the same thing. I am making my dining ressies but WoC and Fantasmic dining pkgs haven't been released yet. :(
So can't make those ressies until they release the dining pkgs.

I had to change my reservations around a bit, because Fantasmic is only showing on the weekends while I'm there. I was hoping to NOT go into the park my first day there (jetlag), but I'll have to in order to see Fantasmic. So make sure you check the days for Fantasmic!

I'm wondering how it will be for me. Fantasmic is showing the days I am there. Just checked.
I was thinking of doing WoC dining pkg on my arrival day. My plane gets in at 11am.
I'm wondering how the time change will affect me.

When I go to WDW I am up at 5-6 am every day, on the go all day & don't go to bed until 11 or later that night.
Wondering how it will be adding 3 hrs into the mix due to time zone difference.
I'd really like to do it the first day and fantasmic the 2nd so they will be done and out of the way.
Plus scheduling them early in the trip is good just in case of an unforseen cancellation, I would have more time to see the shows.
How bad is jetlag? I've never experienced it.
