World of Color Dining Packages Announced

Okay so I called again and changed my 6pm ressies at AG to 5pm ressies at AG on July 18th.
CM said that since I will be there a month after opening "all bugs should be worked out by then" he also said that "You shouldnt have any problems receiving a ticket"
So, now Im really excited!
Although with all the good reviews of WCT, I may want to change my dinner ressies... hmmm...

We always eat at AG for the Princesses, but if there is no princesses maybe I should try a new restaurant.

Good luck to all those on opening day! :wizard:

Just called the GCV and they said they do not think they will be giving show passes to guests of the Grand and villas.

Yes, but can't you all go up to the WOC viewing platform on the roof of the VGC wing? :thumbsup2

I just called and got June 12 5pm @ AG and was not planning on getting the dinner package, but after reading Al Lutz report, I have changed my mine, but I am still planning on seeing the WoC on Friday June 11th.

I'm in the same boat. I broke down and booked for the 12th lol. Although I'll still probably check it out on the 11th. I'm hoping I can just roll in for a possible 11:30 show(if it happens).

For what it's worth, here's some info on the "picnic" option. I don't know that it's actually on the Disneyland website yet, though. It sounds reasonable to me but I didn't think the portions looked very good, and as my travel buddy is a picky eater, I doubt she'll be interested.

I wouldn't throw aside those dining reservations yet at any rate, but if you were curious. The price is much more reasonable but you don't get a place to sit. :)

Sigh. I so hope they have these 'kinks' worked out by July. When I booked our meals nothing was mentioned about indoor/outdoor, nor any mention of not getting the tickets. No way am I going to alright with doing the dinner only to not get tickets.

So, seeing as I have not gotten any calls in regards to our rezzie guess I will call them again and see what the newest scoop is. Waiting for this info is like watching a really long suspense movie. popcorn::

Less than 2 weeks to go and hopefully we get some good feedback. :woohoo:

I just called and made reservations for WoC. They are also doing reserved seating for the second WoC show. Im glad because I prefer to eat later anyway.

I was told by the CM that as of right now it is not guaranteed to be seating, but it likely to be a reserved section to watch the show in. They aren't sure what the section will be or where, and more info is expected when the show opens.

I was able to get a 7:30 dinner reservation at WCT which will get us into the later show.

I wonder if concierge level will get them? I plan on doing the WCT dinner... but thought that might be a back up.

I'm with you on that one. We made ressies for AG on July 27th but, are staying at the PPH in the concierge level. So, the ressies are just a back up. Hope the concierge comes thru that would be an extra bonus. :cool1:

WOW! So there is FastPass viewing area, Reserved Viewing area if you purchase the picnic. AND Preferred Reserved Viewing if you purchase the table service package. WOW - lots of options! This seems awfully complicated - can't wait to hear from the first WOC "guinea pigs" to see how it all works out. They made no mention of the Conceirge level or DVC fast pass that was rumored previously, hmmmmm.

Hi All,

Hope this clears something up. I asked on the Disny Blog today about the standing vs. seating info and here is what I got straight from the mouse so to speak:

Hi Heather,

Thank you for the update. I now have reservations at Ariels. Is the Preferred Reserved Viewing standing or seated?

Heather Hust Rivera on June 2nd, 2010 at 2:31 pm
The Preferred Reserved Viewing that comes with Ariel’s Grotto is standing.

So am I to understand that currently there is NO seating???? Everything is standing room only???
From this thread: World of Color Superthread
Will there be seating for World of Color?

For most visitors, no. A new viewing area was constructed in Paradise Pier to accomodate standing guests. For the majority WoC will be viewed like Disney fireworks by finding a spot to stand. See this link for current photos Photos and Commentary of World of Color Viewing Area.

Yes, I believe everything I've ever seen about WOC has said it's standing only, including when we saw the models and discussed with CM's at the Blue Sky Cellar when we were there in Jan and Mar this year.

I just can't imagine how this is going to work! :confused3 Standing with nothing to lean on for a 30 minute show is going to be very tough for a lot of people at the end of the day (including myself)! And this is likely to be after standing in line for a while, so the standing time will be much longer than 30 minutes.

We'll be giving it a try on opening night with an AG dining package because it's the next to the last night of our trip and our only chance to see it and we probably won't be back for a few years... Should be interesting. Bet Guest Services will have huge lines that day... popcorn::

But then maybe I'm just being pessimistic, and Disney really does know what they're doing with expecting huge numbers of people to stand in close proximity for long periods of time.

Just made our reservations for August 2nd at 4:10pm for the first showing! Cant wait.:yay:

I wanted to make one for that day too, but I can't find a phone at the moment to make a long distance call. DH's cell phone can, but he won't be home until late tonight. Guess I'll try tomorrow.

Okay, trying to help here.

First: Standing only. With the obvious exception of the elderly or those with special needs due to physical issues, this really is not a huge deal. Honest. I don't know if you have ever watched the fireworks or Fantasmic! at Disneyland, but probably 95% of all viewing for fireworks is standing only. At Fantasmic!, with the exception of the seating area and the "dessert premium package area" everything else is standing room only.

I don't know how long the show is, but it really isn't that different from any of the other evening entertainment.

As for a long line at Guest Services, I hope it's with comments about how amazing the new show was!

Lastly, I think Disney has done new shows and evening entertainment a "few" times between all the different Parks. They tend to have an idea of how to do this and put a LOT of work and thought into making it flow well. I think they plan out logistics to the Nth degree in more detail than anyone would ever want to think about. JMO

*does the "We got reserved seats at 5:00 PM on the 28th in the Grotto" dance~~* :cool1:

Sorry, I'm just so excited we got the seats :goodvibes

Nope, I've never stood for Fantasmic or fireworks at DL... I have camped out 3-4 hours ahead of time for Fantasmic while comfortably seated on my tarp and hand towel to cushion my rump! And if I'm not watching fireworks from ROA after Fantasmic, I'm watching from near Small World or the esplanade outside the park where I can sit. I've also never stood for a Disney parade at either DL or WDW on all of my many trips. I get a spot early where I can sit up front, or I catch it another time. I don't do standing well, obviously! Standing is much tougher on a body than walking, I believe.

I do hope it turns out well, but I've had major concerns about the "standing room only" thing from the first time the CM talked to us about it on our Jan trip!
