How is the view from there? Is it worth the cost?

You don't get to stay at Ariel's Grotto (after having the dinner package) to watch the show. You get reserved standing tickets for a nicer area than if you were to get the fast pass at the Grizzly River Run fp booth.

Get the fast pass ticket as soon as the gates open. Get there a little early or on time to secure a good standing spot. It's a great show from what I saw. Unfortunately the guy in front of me who was right against the rail and had the best view in the world decided to lift his daughter onto his shoulders.

As others have said there is no view from AG unless you are talking about Cove Bar.
