Working the System - A NYE PTR - Link to TR is up! 1/13

Wow, that is some more busy trip to Hawaii delivering so much in such a short time. You have really undertaken a whole lot with Christmas and your trip quickly approaching! :faint:

Seems like so much still to do for everyone getting ready for your trip. I can't imagine coming down to the wire so close with having my tickets arrive. But at least things are still moving in the right direction.

Final days are such a :headache: and I know you are going to hate seeing some of your travel group leave, but I guess that is better than it being you! :rotfl2: I can't wait for the review of BoG.

As we were light on pictures in this update….

Here's a few from my tree! Which finally got up on Sunday but still is completely barren of presents.

You do realize that once you put this ornament on the tree, you really didn't need to do anything else to it, right??? :rolleyes1

I am trying to figure out what I could just coat the material with to provide a barrier but haven’t figured anything out. I may try moleskin but again the "wrap" issue makes that a little tricky as well.
I was just thinking, chances are the weather will be cool enough to wear long sleeves...can you just wear the band on TOP of the cuff of your shirt? Will this work?

We've got a pickle, too!! I love all your ornaments! What are the red berries, is that garland? Very cool.

My experience with UT is that they have been very conservative on arrival dates. They usually beat it. Now that being said holiday mail and USPS in general.... Hopefully they will be be an early Christmas present. :goodvibes

I hope so. I'm too tired to think about it. LOL!

Sounds like you have a plan for Universal. Better safe than late to Harry Potter. :lmao:

:rotfl:

that's nice

(oh wait, he's MIA...:rotfl2:)

2 weeks from today!!! :cool1: Hey 2 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!! :scared1: Yeah I go back and forth and I am home every day mostly all day. :lmao:

2 weeks from TOMORROW! For me. I just have to make it through next week. Hopefully by this time Friday night I'll have checked everything off my list and can relax and enjoy Christmas week (even though I work every day except Xmas itself lol).

One of my small issues is making sure I have clothes I can in and out of over my arm that I can't lift up. :rotfl2: Getting much better but I have some normal positions I just can't do. I feel like a T-rex on the right side. :lmao:

Oh man, that has to be a total pain.

Literally

T-Pat

Lordy lordy, that is a lot of Christmas cards. :faint:

Yes, yes it is. It's always a wrangle at the end but a bit worse this year with trying to fit in the Hawaii deliveries and then get back and do the local ones. Last year we didn't have a company party so that helped, the semi formal sit down dinner for 100 complete with DJ, photographer, etc ate up time that would have been spent getting a bit further ahead on things but oh well. It was a lovely party if I do say so myself. :rotfl:

I hope ALL of the park tickets arrive before their owners leave for their trip.

At the moment I'm too tired to care. :rotfl: I really should be working right now but hit a wall. I may blow off the gym tomorrow and do more work then...although I'll feel better if I work out...ugh. I got hit yesterday with a monster presentation that I either need to get done before I fly out...or on the plane (or more likely, both).

I love your tree...it's very pretty.

Thanks!

Plans for Univeral sound great.

And love the idea of lunch at Raglan Road and shopping. Be sure to get a Bailey's Shake.

I'm intrigued by some of the brunch items, not sure if the shake would go with brunch but you never know!

Well, this is my normal December. I'll get back Weds and turn around and do the same thing here in Seattle, I have about 50 or so to deliver here. If I am lucky, I will not be out delivering on the 23rd...that would make me very happy! I'd be feeling ok about it all were it not for the monster presentation that fell in my lap yesterday. I will be spending a chunk of tonight or tomorrow pulling together materials for it and then compile it all on the plane. Bleh. I should do it tonight but hit a wall. Real question is whether I can fit in Santa pictures and teaching Eric how to do some HTML editing before I head to the airport Sunday on top of everything else.

Well, in the past we'd have jsut gotten them there or they'd have been part of a package, the whole FP+ thing is a wrinkle. I tend to question how much the UT savings is worth it but it added up enough to make sense. I'm too tired to care about it though honestly. I do hope they get here but if they don't it really isn't my problem.

That ornament rocks! It's Evan's. Sad thing is that the ball had a spring holding it to the bat, spring broke. It's taped on. Disney store was out and couldn't replace. He still loves it though!

I was just thinking, chances are the weather will be cool enough to wear long sleeves...can you just wear the band on TOP of the cuff of your shirt? Will this work?

It will definitely work at night or if it's cool enough.

Yay for the pickle! A very important ornament. Yes, it's a garland.

Great pics! :)

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cindy? Your family calls you Cindy? I never would have guessed that.

Who is Queen Bee? I'm speed reading so forgive me if I missed that. You know late, worked all day, really tired and not concentrating. Plus the phone could ring at any minute.

OK - enough of that.

Good luck delivering all those gifts all over Hawaii.

Your trip is SO close. You must be super excited. Wow! I'm excited for you!

My tree went up on Sunday, too!

Love the ornaments. I love the little snow globe with miniature minnie & mickey. I am really itching for some new Disney ornaments. They are totally my fav.

Yeah, I know I can, that just seems like a pain but I'll figure something out for sure.

I had mine around my purse strap, since it was just a glorified room key, but as long as you put it around something that you're carrying there really is no need to have it on your wrist.

I can't believe how busy you are and how much you have going on! The trip to Hawaii does not sound at all like a fun trip. And no days off but Christmas before you go sounds very stressful! I'm not sure how you keep up with everything!

Yep. Aunt Cindy to the nephews. Jeff thinks it gives me a split personality. I was Cindy through college but between the fact that there were 8 Cindy's in my sorority, 5 in my pledge class alone and my first marriage giving me a last name that made the whole thing so cute I couldn't stand it (it sounded like I should have my hair in a ponytail and drive a station wagon), I changed to Cynthia when I moved to Chicago and it's been Cynthia ever since.

Queen Bee is my sister Melissa. She is the Queen, Kerri is the Princess and I keep joking that I am the Empress. I am not sure what that makes my mom!

Good luck delivering all those gifts all over Hawaii.

Well, other than the flights there and back it's not any different than all the deliveries I'm doing here when I get back. Whatever I don't get done in Hawaii, the guys there will have to do for me...they are just like bulls in a china shop so...I'd rather do it myself. Some are just drop offs though. I'm more concerned about my Seattle deliveries, I usually have 2-3 days for them and this is only 2...slightly less as I have a a minor eye outpatient thing tossed in there.

Your trip is SO close. You must be super excited. Wow! I'm excited for you!

Two weeks from TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did get brows and a haircut today :cool1:

I still don't have one single present under it though! :rotfl2:

Me too! I actually collect nutcrackers and snowglobes, the boys like to pick one out every year. Sometimes we find one, sometimes we don't. They've been bugging but I really kind of want to see if we find some there. I don't know if we will but...

I love that ornament, that one is Kendall's. She probably has 10 different snowglobes of one sort or another on the tree!

I had mine around my purse strap, since it was just a glorified room key, but as long as you put it around something that you're carrying there really is no need to have it on your wrist.

Wrist seems easier for tapping but yes, it can loop around whatever. Which reminds me that I do need to figure out what the heck I am doing regarding a park bag! :rotfl2:

Well, if I survive the next week I will be golden. It's a crazy busy one but honestly one of my favorites at work, clients are happy to see me, everyone is chatty and thankful, it's just super rewarding. While yes, I do have work Christmas week, it will be QUIET and I get get icky admin stuff done that I can't possibly even think about at the moment.

Besides...sleep is overrated. :rotfl2: As long as I don't get sick, I should sleep well on that red eye, right?

One of the conductors in my college days would always say, "There's plenty of time to sleep in the tomb."

I however, think that sleep is a good thing! :rotfl2: I spent enough of my young life on limited sleep, now that I am nearing my golden age, I think I want to catch up on some of that sleep! :lmao:

Yes, I've usually heard it as plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead. I do get enough sleep actually, at least most of the time. And I sleep darn well. I just run really hard during the day. Funny thing is, when I don't "have" to run hard, I find myself often at a total loss as to what to do and I get absolutely nothing done.

:rotfl:

Hence, I am never, ever, caught up. On anything. LOL! But I will be by your thread soon, I swear!

:rotfl:

Yup- Part of the reason more isn't done here. I have tomorrow. :rotfl2:

I like deadlines and I have actually been tasking myself with things I feel I MUST get done on a particular day so I feel like I accomplish something. ;)

exactly! I perform well under pressure.

Which makes it a lot like pot calling kettle black when I try to get the kids to do stuff ahead of time, when they have the extra time :rotfl:

Wow, 48 hours in Hawaii!? I know it' snot relaxing, but man. Nice stuff.

No FP+ for some huh? That stinks. But, procrastination doesn't pay. But trying to convince people of that sometimes is very difficult. :lmao:

Two weeks! We're not too far behind that.

You are one busy woman! Normally I'd be jealous of the Hawaii trip but it sounds way too busy to have any enjoyment. Good luck getting everything done...not too long until the big trip!

It's actually torture. You can see paradise, but not experience it. In many ways it'd be easier to go to NYC, or Chicago for similar flight distance as then you can enjoy the night stuff but not feel like you are missing out during the day.

Well, if you are adamantly against FP+ as one sister is, then I guess it's ok, I'd just be stressed cutting it so close. As for the other, they will get here prior to the trip but whether we can book much for folks remains to be seen.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I wouldn't be jealous. Part of me wants to change my Wednesday flight back now that the scouting event I was scheduling around has been postponed but in reality I've got to hit the ground hard Thursday am so getting home late is not a good idea and all it would buy me is maybe 3 hours of morning enjoyment but I'd get home so late I couldn't prep for the next day at work and well, that just won't work. I have been checking to see if I can do the earlier flight tomorrow and it looks like it's sold out. It's only an hour 20 minute difference but man, from an arrival standpoint that would be better! Trying to see how to fit in a run and it's going to be tough, sunset is just before 6pm but boy am I going to try! AM won't work as I have the interviews meeting me at 7am. Bleh.

Cindy hmmmm !!! Well your Mom has to be The Queen Mother !!!!

Yes, yes she does.

Congrats to K! Heck any scholarship is awesome! :cool1: :thumbsup2

I found the pickle. :rotfl: Love the ornaments.

Are you in Hawaii now? :faint:

Cindy. Nope can't do it. Smart though to put different names on for separate parts of the trip.

Dudley was closed when we were there. They were cleaning it.
That is great she got her top choice. Congrats!
I would love a job I got to travel.
We bought Universal from UT and got the 3rd day free.
BOG I will just say if you like French onion soup order it. YUM!
I am all caught up.

Congrats to Kendall on the scholarship! I think every little bit helps!

Aren't names fun? I think what we go by as kids are not necessarily what we go by as adults. I went by my full name as a kid... but only part of it now. (unless we are talking MDE... then I go by my entire first name cause "Ann" lost her mind :rotfl: ) In your case as well as my own... it is just a variation of our name. I know others that go by something entirely different. Both my mil and my maid of honor at my wedding go by their middle names. My dh - his family has called him by a nick name all of his life. I guess it just goes to show that what is listed on our birth certificates is not necessarily what we ourselves decide to be called.

How cool to be going on another trip (even if it is just a short business one) to Hawaii.

Plans sound good... sounds like it would be a bit less stressful if tickets were all done and in hand, but given that I myself am hoping to get fp+ for the rest of my group after we check in (just copying over from mine)... I hope are able to do that. (a test so to speak to see if it will work for me. ;))

I just realized that I have been reading this PTR and have never left an actual comment. I'm sorry for that! However, with your trip so close I figured now's as good as time as any to hop in. :goodvibes

A business trip to Hawaii...hmmm, that could be a good thing or a difficult thing. On one hand, you're in Hawaii, who would complain about that? On the other, you're so close to beautiful sights, beaches, tropical drinks...but you have to concentrate on your job and ignore the sound of the ocean waves in the distance.
A catch-22! :rotfl:

Congrats to Kendall. I hope that things pan out for her to play soccer there... and maybe even pick up a scholarship along the way. :thumbsup2

It is ridiculous though that an 18 or 19 year old kid has to know what they want to do before they even graduate high school. Truthfully, I'm happy that I graduated from the School of Agriculture at Purdue, but by the time I was a senior, I wished I had gone for my major in an area that I got a minor in. I enjoyed it a lot more than my major and did a lot better in those courses. They pretty much make you paint yourself into a corner and you either go with it or spend a few more semesters and a lot more money if you have second thoughts.

I'm sorry that things are still kind of in limbo for your trip with everyone still waiting for tickets and trying to figure out the Universal thing. Most important of all, I hope that you're able to get into Margaritaville at some point in time!
