Working at Disney

hey guys i got a job at disney, i haven't started yet, but i was curious to know is there a lot of job movement or possiblities to move up in the company. I have a bachelors degree is Computer info systems, but i want to be w/ a big company where i know i can move up someday. any info would be well appreciated thanks again,

Congratulations! What are you going to be doing there? My friend works for Disney.

i will be working in one of the stores, not sure exactly which one yet, but it will be merchandise.

DD worked in merchentainment for a while(Confectionery on Main St.)

It's probably easier to move up in the corporate and back-end areas... from the impression I got after doing the college program (not the Disney line, but what I actually felt) was that getting a job in the park is almost a dead end - they will hire managers from some place else as managers, while people that work in the park for years barely ever move up.

Just what I observed - maybe it's not true. But that and meeting my fiancee are the reasons I didn't go back!

hey guys thanks for the info, i'm kinda excited bout the whole thing, i've always wanted to work for disney, and i need out of the town i'm in, so i'm gonna take a huge pay cut and all to fulfill my dream....

Congrats to you!!!

I think if you make a good impression at the job you get, you can always try to apply for other positions within Disney later on, and at that point , you'll have managers at WDW to back you up and say how good you are at working there.
