I've been considering making the move to sunny Florida and was wondering if anyone here has ever worked as a bartender in any of the Disney World resorts or restaurants. Do you have to start low and work your way up to bartending? Is the pay worth it? Many thanks!

You always start low on the totem pole at Disney.

A lot has to do with where you work, but I've known a couple people that made good wages. Of course at Disney, everything is on the lower side of a payscale, but more than makes up for it in benefits.

Depends, do you have bartending experience? I mean if you've been doing it for some time there is no reason to expect Disney not to put you in the position where you add the most value. If you haven't the experience, I wouldn't expect to be bartending at Narcoossee's any time soon.

With regards to pay, don't bartenders pretty much live off the tips??

Would suggest, if possible, you take a trip down here and personally check specifics regarding what you want to do.

There is a lot more involved if you plan to move here, i.e. where to live, cost of living, transportation, availability in area you wish to work, etc. etc.

Good luck and best wishes
