Work trip Nov 12-16...few questions!

i recently found out that I'll be in the area for a training trip, and I will definitely make time to get to DLR!
I fly in on the 12th, with the next day open for park time. That'll be a Sunday, and I've read that this is a marathon weekend? Any recommendations? I will be coming in from a hotel out of the Disneyland area, so no resort benefits for me.

Also, I know that there are convention tickets that allow admitting after 4pm. Where do you buy these? Are they specific to certain conventions? My classes let out at 4pm.

I'm seriously at a loss as to what to plan at this point. Are there any special events/parties going on at this time? It's been a few years since I've been to DLR, and I've only been once. Will the holiday overlay still be in place in the Haunted Mansion?

Your advice would be appreciated very much! I'm super excited to be getting this unexpected chance to go to a Disney park, since it's been a few years!

Convention tickets are limited to the convention groups. They aren't available outside of this.

No special parties at this time. Overlay will be in place.

Sunday with the marathon, you will really need to check out road closures. They are usually in effect until about 9 or 10 am. The park will fill up after the runners finish.
