Wording for Soarin' Request?

I'll be there next week (woohoo!) and I'm wondering how I should phrase a request to the Soarin' CMs. I really dislike how the buildings appear curved in the new version. It really messes up the experience for me. But I find that it is less pronounced when you sit in the middle of a row. I don't mind the feet dangling above me (although I don't know if I've ever experienced the ride without people above me).
Is there a simple, clear way to make my request to the CM?
I should add that we plan to ride first thing after rope drop. And we'll be a large crowd (8-13 people).
Thanks!

Yup...very common. While not as common as front row of a roller coaster, it is frequently requested.

Ask for "B" section if not already filled up or if you wanna wait for next flight. That is the Center cluster of seats.

"B 1" (meaning center section first row) are the prime seats where you do not see any feet dangling in front of you.

The outer A and C seating section are where the images get distorted. That was a major whoopsie by Imagineering IMO.

We usually say, “Can we sit in the middle section, please? We don’t mind waiting a cycle if needed.” We always thank them and try to be generally un-entitled-seeming about it.

We also ask to sit in the front row on GOTG and in the back on Big Thunder. I guess we’re high maintenance!

The problem with requesting B section if you're the first group to do it is that you will be on the end of the B rows, which, while not as bad as A or C, is still a problem. We always ask for B section and hope we're not the first ones to do it. But they will always accommodate your request to sit in B.

We ALWAYS ask for back row on BTMRR - it's just so much better back there!

Very popular request! It doesn't bother us on where we sit, but every time we ride it we notice a large group seemingly waiting for the next flight on the B section.

We have a lot of special seating requests for rides at DLR. CMs are usually very helpful as long as we are polite, friendly, and make clear that we are fine with waiting however many ride cycles it may take to work out our request. Agree with the pp that requesting, not demanding, is key.

Yup, will only do Soarin' from the middle section, top row. That is how I always ask and have never had a problem.

One time we were going to the ride and someone gifted us FPs. We already had FPs (they were on their way out and were going to throw them out if we did not take them) but we took them and gifted them to a nice, older couple who looked a little overwhelmed at the size of the line ;) The couple got behind us in the queue and heard my request, I told the CM they wanted the same - they loved their first Soarin'

Here's something interesting about Soarin', though. We always ask for B section, unless it's apparent that we're going to be seated there naturally. Usually we wind up in B1 (always when we request it), but, if we're seated there as regular seating we'll take row 2 or 3. And we've noticed that there's other stuff to see from the lower rows that we've never noticed from B1.

Really? I'd never heard that before!

We always ask for B1 and have never been denied ... although you do have to be prepared to wait a while if they have to put you in the next group (which is often) especially if only 1 is running.

Oh, and I just have to add ... when we were there in August, we were seated in B1 next to a family who had never been on Soarin' before. Mom, dad, two elementary school aged kids. It was SO fun to be next to them to hear their reactions! Mom was practically in tears by the time it was over!

I also dislike the way the buildings are curved...it makes everything look fake. For this reason I much preferred Soarin over California. I miss it!

CMs let us do it once but denied our request the other time that trip. Wow did they screw up a great ride! Every Disney exec should have to sit on the far side of that now ruined ride :crazy2:
