I was getting restless waiting for just the right "ding" I needed over the computer, so after speaking with a CM, they recommended that I try AirTran. I was slightly reluctant because of all the punches they get on here; however, they did have some pretty good fares, non-stop, and on a larger plane than I normally fly on Delta. Soooooo, since I was so ready to be done with Delta, I booked online. My TA finally got back w/me today stating an outrageous price that she could get for me. I told her "no" way. I'm not a TA and even I found better than that.
Well, then I get that "ding." $45 from RIC to Orlando. I wanted to scream. It was half of what I had just paid AirTran. So, I called AirTran, knowing that basically I couldn't do anything about it, but still wanting to vent. The lady was so nice. She said, "Well, as you know the tickets are non-refundable, but we are showing that for the flight that you requested there is a current web rate of $49 a person. ""What? The rates have dropped?" I had booked our flights at a rate of $94 and $104.
She asked me to hold and then hold some more. The end result, she credited me the difference in a rewards account and I have one year to use the $. Wahoooo!!!! That's a good discount for our next trip to WDW. I'm going to have to tell my husband that we go back to the World in less than a year. Shucks! How will we survive?
Anyway, because alot of what gets posted on here in regards to airlines is negative, I thought I would share a positive experience. I've never flown with this airline before, but so far, they are impressing me.
