I have not flown in about 5 years, any tips on flying would be appreciated.

We always stay at POFQ, what is everyone's opinion on POR?

Any feed back on Tonys Town Square or do you think there is a better italian resteraunt. What do you think of Les CHef's De France and Narcoose's?

I like both POR and POFQ, although I personally like riverside more, but Im sure some people like FQ more. I like the calmness of riverside.

I like Tony's a lot, I think it is one of MK better TS restaurants and the last time I went in May, the CM were super nice.

I also like the French TS restaurant you mentioned, although last time I went was new years 2010, so it's been a little over a year. The servers were a little classically french in behavior, which I thought was just a myth, or maybe they were playing it up, but they weren't super friendly, unlike Japan, which is almost too friendly. The food was good. I don't know how much children would like it though.

is not that much different now. It may be easier. Some things to remember:

1) Give yourself a little extra time.
2) Keep as little in your pockets as you can. I often stuff things in jackets or side pockets of my carry on items. In some airports your pockets should be empty for the scanners. You have to hold things in your hands
3) Only one quart sized bag for liquids. Last trip one lady dutifully used quart size bags but had two.
4) wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off
5) Put your carry on in the overhead handle first. It will fit easier. Overhead storage is hard to get now.
6) No snow globes in carry ons

My family went to Tony's to Celebrate my 40th birthday last month. It was my choice, we had never been there before. I was disappointed :( food was just ok (my daughters meal actually looked and tasted like a Stouffers frozen meal). I wish MK would open some new TS (non buffet) restaurants. I think if you are looking for Italian, Les Chefs De France in Epcot would be a much better choice.

??? I think maybe there is a "not" missing from there. :) For Italian, Tony's is okay, to me on par with Olive Garden (without the yummy breaksticks or salad, which to me are the best part of OG.) The best Italian we've had onsite is Tutto Italia in Epcot.

Chef's De France gets very mixed reviews, but we liked it the one time we were there. Wife's onion soup was incredible (unbelievable gruyere cheese), my escargot was good, not great. My salmon main course was excellent, wife's short ribs were good, the side it came with was totally tasteless. We're going back in November.

Narcoossee's has great lobster, overall, we've found Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is better for seafood otherwise, but if Narcoossee's is more convenient, go for it!

Remember, unless you are flying JetBlue or Southwest, it is $25/ checked bag. If you are going to pay to check a bag, make sure it is a full 25 or 29 inch bag, not a 21 inch bag. You can carry on the 21 inch bag. Remember, if your checked bag is over 50 pounds, they will charge you more.

If you fly an airline that provides TV's but makes you rent the headphones, bring your iPod, MP3 player, etc... and your own headphones might work.

I love and live for POR even started a pro-POR thread). Very cozy. Some people don't like that you may have to walk a distance from your room to the main building. The way I see it, I enjoy the walk. Especially with the serenity that is provided by the grounds

As for the Italian food, I loved Tutto Italia in EPCOT. I was extremely let down by Mama Melrose at MGM.

Hope this helped.

OHHHHH... Almost forgot. If you think you are going to fly home with a lot of gifts, shirts and souvenoirs, I came up with a simple solution that I received grief over. When me and my fiance' went down, she hadn't been in a while and it was right before Christmas, so I knew WE'd both be going a little crazy shopping. So, planning for the trip back, I folded up tight and had her pack a hockey bag that she bought at a Bruins equip sale. The whole vacation, she kept insisting that we didn't need it. The day we packed for home... WE NEEDED IT! Now, this is where I get the bonus points, while waiting in line to check in at the airport, she still insisted that she could've made stuff fit. When it came time to weigh the bags, we had to pay the service fee for the 3rd bag, THEN we had to pay overweight fee for her's (overweight fee is more expensive than the 3rd bag fee). The hockey bag still had some free poundage to give. We distributed the weight just enough, and we got by with just the 3rd bag fee.

So, if you pack a surplus bag, you'll be ready to bring back the gifts and say "I told you so."

We had a great meal and a great server at Mama Melrose in Jan. We also like Tony's chicken parm.

I always do the empty bag thing too.We fly JetBlue sio we can check a bag and carry one on. Also I always mail any breakables home as I had a couple of bad experiences with breakage.
