We are very excited as our waitlist option for AKV came throught today. My wife and I are staying in a Savanna view studio in Jambo.

We have never stayed there before. Any advice from any AKV vetrans on things to do/see? We have eaten at Boma but that is our only exposure there.

If you get a chance you might want to try Jiko. It makes for a special evening. They have a tour that takes you behind the scenes into the kitchen there too. Its free, you can ask the front desk for the time.

One simple thing I like to do is to just take the time to talk to the guides. They are so willing to chat and tell you about their homelands and are so knowledgeable about the resort/animals. We did the night vision goggle thing and the highlight was really just the conversation we had with one guide who was just a wealth of information.

Have a fantastic time!!!! And congrats on your waitlist coming through...you are going to love it there!

We just stayed in a savannah Jambo studio at the end of Feb. Initially, we were given a room on the Sunset savannah. If you are issued one of these rooms look at the map carefully. Our room was as far out as you can get and it did not have a good view. It was a view of a bulding where the animals are kept . We immediatley switched to a new room on the Zebra trail. I'm pretty sure it was #5432. The savannah view was excellent. I would definitely make a request. Also, the location to the elevators and the pool/lobby couldn't be beat.

Make sure you do the night vision at Jambo. It's really interesting to watch the animals at night. It is located just past the pool. There are usually signs pointing the direction. Ask the front desk and they'll definitely be able to help you. It is really neat and free :thumbsup2

Near the pool is definetly a good bet, both savannas are nice, plus there is an elevator that comes out next to the pool and the CS

Thank you. I was wondering about room locations and have now put in the request for Zebra trail.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. We are really excited to try the resort.

I love DVC!!!!!!
