WooHoo! I got the Illuminations Cruise!

Just opened my e-mail inbox and saw an email from The Polynesian......the concierge managed to secure me an Illuminations Cruise for this August! They even got it for the exact date I wanted!

I am so excited! I have been looking forward to one of these for ages but could never reserve one fast enough myself.





Anybody who's been before -- what's it like?!

I'd really like to book a cruise for October this year but really haven't got a clue where to start. I wonder if anybody is able to advise on how to go about booking a cruise?

I was very fortunate to share someone else's cruise in 2002. It was really good. We did a tour of the lake outside the beach club with the driver telling us about the Swan, Dolphin and Boardwalk. We then cruised along the canal way to Epcot and tied up near another boat underneath a bridge. I must admit I felt really smug when people on the bridge waiting for Illuminations were shouting down "Where do you get on those boats". After about 15 minutes of entertaining banter between the 2 drivers the lights went down and illuminations began - it was an excellant view.
After it had finished we were taken back to the beach club where we had parked our car and drove back to our hotel avoiding the crowds leaving Epcot.
You are going to enjoy it - I am so grateful that someone was kind enough to let us join them.

I followed that thread a few weeks ago and put my name down for a July space if there was one. I have been lucky enough to be contacted by a Dis user and we are joining up with two other US families for an Illuminations Cruise

We are meeting up for dinner first so we can all "get to know" each other and my daughter is thrilled about it all as there are two other teenagers in the party!

We were lucky enough to go on one last August, sharing with other DIS members. It was FANTASTIC and the highlight of our trip.
