I got clearance to start planning a trip fro December 2008, for DH's birthday. Also got my younger and older sister (25 and 35 respectively) to agree to come too as well as my mom and dad. Dh is a tad leery of spending so much time with my mom but he's willing to try. So suddenyl all my Disney knowledge and planning prowess seems to have escaped me! We don't have a ton of money so I need to plan this very carefully so we can save whenever possible. I wonder if getting 3 rooms at either one of the AS or Pop would be best or if there is another option for 6 adults that would also be cost effective? My sisters have agreed to share rooms (neither are married or bringing anyone), my parents will share and DH and I will share. Does anyone have any other ideas for where to stay or are we best sticking with the idea of a value resort? We are looking at the first wekk of December 2008.

Not sure of the budget, but we've actually mentioned a possible trip with the in-laws and thought about maybe the Wilderness Cabins. They do sleep 6, although I think the bedroom has 1 double/queen (?) and a set of bunk beds.

I had thought about the cabins at FW too but wasn't sure if the set up would be conducive to adults. Are the bunk beds large enough for an adult? DH and I could share the Queen/Full and let my parents have the bed in the living room (s it a pull out couch or a murphy bed. I can't remember). Are those beds comfortable? My mom has a wonky back and I would hate for her to be uncomfortable at night.

We haven't stayed there yet, but hopefully someone else can answer your questions since we would consider it with the in-laws at some point.

Maybe 3 rooms would be your best bet. That way your hubby could have a break from so much family togetherness!! You could still hang out with your family in their rooms and hubby could have some chill out time in your room. I've been there-done that. This situation worked best for us.:thumbsup2

I imagine he'll bea leaning towards his own"space" as well, but for the right price/savings he'd overlook a whole lot for affordability. He's as Disney obsessed as I am!

While I love the cabins, I think that may be too much togetherness! lol We took my inlaws 2 years ago and stayed there. They had the bed in the living room and my MIL who complains of a bad back, never complained once about the bed. My DH and I had the bedroom with our two boys (I was expecting #3). The bunks were big enough for us to curl up with them if needed but 4 adults in that room mught be a little cramped. I'll try to add some pics of the bedroom.....I also have pics of the rest of the cabin if you needed to see those.

Have u considered staying off-site :confused3

We are renting a townhouse in WH for our July trip. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, kitchen, living room, and its own splash pool.

It is also about 5 mins to WDW entrance.

Yes we will have to rent a car but we do so anyway. We also have APs so won't have to pay to park.

Just an option that would be much cheaper than anything you've or anyone else has listed so far ;)

Good luck!

We have considered a villa offsite, but we always do EMH so that would be a last resort if we truly couldn't afford a value. I have also heard that Disney may be converting to a system that would allow only resort guests to use Fast Pass (off-site guests would have to pay for this perk).

Sorry I didn't read the 2008 portion of your Dec date

If you can get an AP discount the values that time frame would still be about $240 a night for all 3 rooms plus tax.

You might consider renting DVC points and staying in a 2bdr villa. We stayed in one at OKW and loved it.

This option has a seperate bedroom with a king size bed and whirlpool bath. The bath/shower section is seperate. It has also as seperate laundry room. Then it has one room with 2 double beds and a bath room (tub/shower) with a seperate sink area. Then the couch folds out into a queen size bed. Then it has a very nice large kitchen/living room area. The balcony is also gorgeous.

Check out the DVC board for point rentals and charts. Be sure though to read carefully as this requires a lot of trust both ways.....

Just another option :thumbsup2
