anyone ever go? would you recommend for kids? Thinking of taking DS10.5 for a 3night mini-vaca while DH works. Or is it more family/couple oriented?
Is there enough to do right there? or would we need to take a few day trips?

Is this trip for the near future? I'm familiar with Woodstock but have never stayed at the Inn. It IS a very nice place and I think I have heard that they have large suites that might accomodate families, though you may have to call to verify whether they are welcoming of children and have activities geared for them(oops just reread, just you and one child, guess you wouldn't need the large suite :o).

As for things to do...if it's for the winter, there are nice small ski slopes in the area. Suicide Six is my favorite and I think a must. It's gotten bigger in recent years but still nice.:) Bring snowshoes, sleds etc. also or probably the inn can provide.

Summer is of course the bigger season and I'm sure you'll find plenty to fill your three days-hiking, canoes, biking etc.

Woodstock is a very charming town....I'm sure you'll have a nice trip any time of year.:)

There's lots to do in that part of Vermont for you and your son. Woodstock is close to Quechee, which has a glass-blowing studio (Simon Pierce) which is pretty cool. There's also the Quechee gorge, which is kind of neat in any weather. I personally hike a lot, so I like to go in the summer.

Woodstock is also not too far from Lebanon, NH, which has a lot of good shopping (and no sales tax in NH).

Hope you have fun in my home state.:smooth:
