Has anyone ever been to the woodloch resort in PA? It looks really nice, but pricey. I was thinking I could do 2 disney trips for the price of a week there. :) Just trying to get some info from anyone who has actually been there.

i have not been there, but a good friend of mine goes often with her family. I know they sometimes get deals to stay there. They were just there in April to celebrate her Mom's Birthday with their whole family.
I can tell you they love it there.

I have never been there either but my neighbor goes every year with her family. They LOVE it there. Last year was the first year with 2 kids in college on different schedules so they didn't go. I know my friend was really missing her family time there. I hope to get together with her this weekend so I'll ask some more about it and report back.

Remember it's all inclusive. The food was glorified catering type of food. But good. Simple but good. They would have "characters" at dinner which was hilarious! There were some very creative choices of characters.
They offer activities all day long. (shows at night- think low budget type) bingo, ect.

There is an indoor pool. We went in the winter. So we snow tubed, cross country skied ect.

It is pricey - but watch for deals. They get a huge repeat customer base of business so deals aren't great but it's better than nothing. We went for 4 nights and that was plenty.

If it was the summer and we had the lake- might be able to find more to do.
It's not fancy by any stretch of the imagination. But it's fun. Kids loved it. - mini golf, basketball hoops, bikes all over the place..... really they have something to keep you busy.

I would try a long weekend before doing a whole week here.

We were there many many years ago. Our girls were around 8. I believe we stayed 3 nights. We enjoyed it, but I don't think I could do a week. It gets pretty repetitive. Meals were good. I remember one night was a lavish buffet. Shows were OK. I remember a lot of seniors. Kids enjoyed the go carts and alpine slide. I'm sure it's changed a bit since then. Grounds are beautiful with the lake and all. If you golf I guess that would be a plus. We took part in a cooking class, so I still have their recipe for choc.chip cookies! Pretty pricey cookies!!! I would rather do 2 trips to Disney.

I was just there this month. We stayed in a beautiful house but would not go back. The house was an 8ish minute drive from the lodge section. We would have enjoyed it more if we were at the lodge and on the meal plan. We felt really removed from everything staying in the house. We also thought it would have been better as a family with kids. We were 5 adults. It is a nice resort but I wouldn't give up one trip to Disney for it and certainly not two!

If you go, use the directions from their website. And listen when they tell you that a gps will not get you there.:headache::rolleyes::headache:

Yes, many times. I even have a child who prefers it to WDW:scared1:
But, he is a Pain in the ... and knows that would get my goat.
Expensive, yes, but so worth it. As another poster says stay in the Main area, don't go off and get a house. Summer is so much fun, plenty of family fun activities. Go and Enjoy! Deb

Thanks to everyone for the replies!! We were debating between the homes or the rooms at the lodge so that info helps me. I was wondering if I would regret staying at the homes even though it is more room and less expensive. I wish we didn't have to include all the meals. They do now have an option in the summer to do bfast/dinner only. I don't necessarily want to get up every morning and go have a big breakfast, but if I am paying for it--I guess I will eat it.:) Sometimes a piece of fruit or bowl of cereal is good for me. It is a significant chunk of change for the meals. Doing the 2 meal per day vs 3 day is about 1000.00 less. I can't imagine spending 1000 in a week for lunch for us.

Thanks for all the tips. We are now debating between 4 day vs 7 day. Vacation would have been easier to plan if the disney cruise was doing the caribbean this summer--that is what we really wanted to do, but they aren't doing that this summer. Appreciate all your replies.
