I knew that I wasn't going to eat at Kona Cafe during my May trip, but I had heard so much about this food that I couldn't wait to have some. I followed the allears recipe. The only thing was that the recipe makes it sound like you can make two, but you actually need to double the ingredients in order to have enough for two. Of course I'll never know if it tastes as good as the original, but man was it good! I could only eat half of it because it was so filling.

Has anyone else tried making this?

ELW makes it often. Gets the bread at the local bread outlet, ususlly sold to restaurants. However, rather than deep frying it, pan fries it. Healthier, easier to make, and just as good, if not better. We always do it down at WDW, but it's nice to be able to have it at home on occasion.

Yep, made it last weekend. It was good, and enough to curb the craving, but still not the same!
