YEAH!! We have graduated from tent camping!! Just bought our first pop up camper!! It's a 2005 Rockwood Freedom 2280. It has AC and a shower/potty combo (which we needed for our special needs daughter.) I think we got a great deal on it - we got it for $6600 with a "family" discount from a dealer friend of ours. We are so excited. Gotta start planning our first trip to WDW and FW in our camper. Probably will be in June 06!!

Congratulations on your first pop-up! You'll have a blast and FW is the greatest campground on earth.

We went from tent camping :( to a popup to a Class C Motorhome to, finally, a 34 ft Class A. And we've enjoyed every trip.

We had a couple of popups over a period of 8 years and we loved every minute of it. You'll find that even with all the conveniences that popups have you still get that "camping feeling" because you can hear the birds and night sounds when you go to bed.

A couple of suggestions...

There is a website called popupgizmos.com that sells a couple of things that will make you life much better.

One is an A/C brace that stabilizes the plastic cover on your A/C so that the shroud doesn't crack. For some reason this is very common on popups. Also they sell custom made solar reflector bunk end covers that truly work wonders on helping keep the interior of your popup cool when it's very hot outside. If you contact them, tell them you heard about them from me and maybe they'll send you a free pencil or something.

You might want to checkout popupexplorer.com for lots of storage and camping help.

Good luck with the Rockwood. We had a Rockwood for 5 years that we absolutely loved. Great campers.

You will love camping at Fort Wilderness. Have a great summer learning your new pop up and have fun planning next years trip.

Congratulations on the new pop-up! We "crossed over" about two years ago and it has been wonderful. We also have a special needs child and he handles the camper soooo much better than staying in a strange hotel. you will love staying at FW in your pop-up, especially since you have A/C.

Since your pop up has a bathroom, you should be able to claim it on your taxes. :cool1: Have fun. You'll love it!

Congratulations! We just bought our first camper last fall. We have not done much camping before, so this summer should be a blast. We can't wait until our stay at FW!
